Default Engine Submerged in Water!

We had a really bad storm here at Davis-Monthan AFB, Tucson AZ. The roads became so flood that somehow the water stalled my engine. So as i drifted/rode the current to the side of the road where ever that was since i couldnt tell everything was underwater the dirt mud gave way and slipped me right into a storm drain. My car was 1/3 submerged underwater front end. To make a long story short I was eventually towed out. Now my car however will not start. It will try to turn over or it will start and choke and die seconds later.

Does anyone know is my engine done for? I have know idea what water does to a engine. Additionally does this void my warranty?

Contact your insurance co. and file a claim. Most likely your car is done.

Yep, our cars don't do well as boats. I'd follow through with the insurance idea.

Insurance companies always total flood damaged cars. There are too many grimlins that come in later due to the flooding.

did u try pulling out the air filter to see if it was wet and covered in mud? u stated the car will start and choke out later. air filter would be the first thing i would change.

What he meant to say was, its time to file a claim, pocket the money, pull apart the engine and drain it out, and hope for the best. More than likely if it was actually flooded, youve got a while before you can drive it again.
