Wow this is ridiculous and sad at the same time. We all have the same car. How can you say yours is superior if it is the same car? Maybe the higher ranking models may have more creature comforts and amenities but we are all different thats why manufactures build different trim levels of a car that they know will sell well. Some people will want leather, some will want cloth, they both have their pros and cons but to the individual who is buying the car they will decide what they like best. At the end of the day its their money, and their perogative. With the whole T.C.S./VDC issue I do realize that yes common sense and good car control will make or brake you. But you can go on youtube and see the differences it makes. It has the potential to saves lives. Period. Why argue with life saving? Our Z's are probably heavy because of the crash test ratings this car receives. Its a safe car and those in accidents with these vehicles can attest to that. In a few years every car to come stateside will have an esc program. The country is making it mandatory. Yea people may turn off stability systems in a race but on the road they do/can help. Not trying to say its mandatory to have because for us some of our Z's are DD's and some are weekend warriors. We all have different taste. So to say that your Z is superior (from the factory) is a ridiculous statement. There are things called standards that must be required in a factory be it automobile or another object. Although we as human may have imperfections which dwindle down to the cars we build, some cars maybe slightly left or right of center i.e. imperfections at the dealer or whatever else people have encountered. The main issue of weight is very important, it is the kryptonite to horsepower and vehicle dynamics. Of course less stuff does equal less weight but to some a couple of pounds is not that important. The Z could stand a diet, we all know that, but oh well what can we do besides take stuff out and take the weight off? Complaing about leather and computers do nothing. You spent your money, its your perogative, buy what you wanna buy because at the end of the day we are all apart of an automotive cult that has been going since 1970. Can we all be cool now? By the way I got a 35th anniversary car.

I wonder if the Mini Cooper forums argue about not getting the "S" model.

If I traded my 05 Track for a 2007, it would probably be a Base model, maybe an Enthusiast for CC.

my girlfriend said, "when we have a kid, you might have to get rid of the Z"

I spat on the back of my hand and back-handed her. She does not speak of the Z that way anymore.

Nah, jk.

She's getting a mini cooper so I won't EVER have to get rid of my Z

i love my base... there's not too much on the other models that I wish I had. i wouldnt use cruise control and i can reach over to my head unit and change the song... i don't need it to be on my steering wheel. haha. there are some things I would have liked to have, but I don't regret getting the base one single bit

I like the volume **** on the steering wheel because it doesn't look so obvious when you're blasting your music for teh ladies.

LOL, I do man! That's my next mod. I'm tired of seeing your mirror dimming by itself when I pull up! I gotta do mine with my fingers. Damn cheap *** base model!

Valid point, I don't race 1/4 miles but I do enjoy my power leather seats!

Nothing wrong with comfort either if that is your goal. Some of you folks are too judgmental. Who cares what model car someone else chose unless you happen to be paying for it?

Of course you can dim you own mirror, but I'm sure it's nice to not to have to sometimes. I know from my Audi that it can be a nice convenience and previous Lexus and Mazda Sedans. I just happen to not care abut that in my Z. I'm too busy driving to worry about much else. I have other car's if I want comfort. Some people want it all in the Z.

I judge this thread to be stupid, useless and disappointing at best.

yeah i know. i like my z and mabye this thread got a little out of hand. once again........we all have a Z , we are all lucky to have one, no matter the trim, we should all just get along and be appreciative of others, and be nice to one another............... once in a while

Im the proud owner of an 03 track. For me it wasnt essential to get the track, but because on 03's the prices dont vary to much between base-enth--perf-touring-track the choice was clear.

I track cars on occasion and when pushed hard enough to actually use them an LSD (whether it be factory or aftermarket) and some good sized brembo 4-pots can come in handy.

who cares what ppl think... its your money, your car, get whatever u want..

we all know the Base is the lightest, we all know the Enthus is best bang for buck, i own a Base cuz that's the only trim i can afford (new)... simple as that...

In my case, I didn't like the Z with the steering wheel controls. I just think it looks cleaner without the buttons on one side of the steering wheel and not the other imo.
