If this happened to me I would trade Z in and get SUV because of poor driving or bad environment.

OP, please clarify: Was it 1 1/2 feet deep, or was it over the hood?

If the water was over the hood did the interior fill with water?

Did the hood at least deflect the water out of the way? You on stock airbox, you had to be doing something silly to hydrolock a motor with stock airbox..

Obviously there are drainage problems in the parking lot, souldn't home depot be held liable for damages? If you slip and fall on an icey surface you can sue right? Or even better, If spilling your blistering hot coffee on your dumbass self can win you a million bucks then surely this incident should be worth a couple $$$.

I doubt its hydrolock , unless you got two cutouts in the front bumper. Even though it hit the hood isnt that just like driving in the rain? Good luck , getting everything sorted out.

nice man.....new engine...new start.....look at the bright side....you have a extra motor that you can take your time building into a race motor.

my old stealth I parked in my work parkin lot. It poured forever that day and when I went out the whole lot was flooded up to the bottom of my door. I popped the hood to make sure the intake was clear of water and was able to get it out ok, except for the sloshing water rushing in under my door...

Hope this works out for you!

Edit: Old thread..glad it did work out

i ask myself that same question everytime i read a thread like this lol... not only would i avoid it because of risking my engine... i would just rather keep water out of my engine bay and wheels / suspension etc. i avoid as much puddles as possible
