Has anyone purposely left there Z stock?
wow, awsome responses guys. I guess im sorta stock. I just changed the radio. thats it. I really like knowing my Z will be as reliable as possible. It seems like there are 2 kinds of owners. maybe more. but to some, the Z is just a toy and that they exchange every year. so gutting it and moding is is there only joy. then there are others who are in it for the long haul and really love there Z. I guess the question is, is your Z your girlfriend or weekend prostitute. another thing that amazes me is how people buy a 30K car and drop 10-15K when they could have stepped up and bought a 40-45K car instead. not to mention your gonna lose your *** on resale. your mods are worth very much and racers dont really like buying another racers car cause they know they drove the **** out it. i see peoples sell totally decked out cars on ebay and they get squat for them. its painful to see. everybody's different i guess. just wanted to hear the opinions.

Intake, borla that I recently sold and wheels, thats it, although I would rather just have wheels and thats it...money down the drain for minimal performance with intake. So to answer your question, I cant, the z demands it, its the only car I am never satisfied with lol like many other here. Leave it stock though, its not worth it and now its hard to stop.

Its funny when I see someone on here saying how they just added an intake, pop charger and what not... I ask why? more speed ? More HP ? for what ? So you can go 0-60 in 5.0 sec instead of 5.1 LMAO. So you can brag to others that your car is now 350 HP instead of 306? Most people could care less, and the ones who do care are probably just as insecure. LMAO no offense to the guys that actually mod there care to track it. Thats a different story.

Get a clue.
With the exception of the GT wheels (which are stock OEM), I'm completely stock and proud of it. This car is too beautiful to screw up with aftermarket junk.
To me, there's nothing tasteful about the aftermarket or Nismo tack ons...jmo.
Maybe a BBK and adjustable suspension someday, but that has more to do with my track use than anything else.

^^^ Those wheels are gorgeous. My Z is pretty much stock. The only part I changed are the stock 17" wheels for forged SSRs. The stockers are so heavy that I had to do something about it. Other than that, I am bone stock....oh wait, I did do the TB bypass and ported/polished my TB while I was doing the bypass. So....I guess no cake for me
Mcurry5, people do the modding because that's what they are into. Some people think it's juvenile but it all comes down to what you're into. Some guys play golf, others snort coke, we do modding. I completely understand guys that go all out on modding even though I am done with it myself. I went through that with my WRX last year where it looked stock but had significantly modified suspension, exhaust and had a custom tune that would pull on most cars on the road. I tuned it myself and did all the work which ended up really cutting into my time. It was fun but I just don't have time for it anymore which is why I got the Z. It's almost perfect the way it is. It's so well balanced that I really don't want to mod it, except for some minor things like a stereo or light, functional wheels.

Stock for now... However, I believe that you dont need to do much to The Z out of stock. In my opinion, a nice set of wheels, a body kit, cold air intake, Nismo free flow exhaust is all I would problably do if I had the extra cash.

Z payments aren't bad (although I bought my car outright). If I had to do it again, I probably would've left mine stock. I was planning on making this car fun for the drag strip but it's totally the wrong car to even start with for straightline performance. Now that the car's been in the shop for about 2 years with it finally being finished (LONG STORY) and putting down 515HP at 15psi (like everyone else now), it's not very fun anymore. Still have bunches of new parts sitting at the house but modding was a very big hobby for me at one time. As far as why buy this car for $30K and putting another $15K into it when I could buy one at $45k, I didn't do it for the price. I bought a brand new 07 BMW 550I ($68K+ sticker) and had considered getting a M5 as my daily driver. This car is for fun, availability of countless mods to customize and talk with other 350Z enthusiasts. This car has so many tasteful mods, it's great owning this car. Also age, maturity or other things are not a factor in why people mod, it's fun for those that consider it a hobby. It's not one upping another person, it's adding my own personal touches to my vehicle. I could almost guarentee you that no other person has the exactly same modifications as my Z so it's very personalized. And yup, I personalized it because it is for the long haul. As far as mileage it has 4400 miles and it's an 04 and just sees the garage and track and a few meets. Also some of the installations were a learning experience for me because I've never replaced a calipur or installed a rear sway bar or cut a balancing chain and removed the oil pan (in the spec V) before and it was fun learning about my car inside and out. I would definitely say I would be much more intimately familiar with my car than many of you that leave yours stock because I've done most of the work myself. But bottomline is preference.
