Has anyone purposely left there Z stock?
I was wondering if there are any Z owners here who are satisfied with there Z the way it is? Or are maybe concerned with doing major changes to there Z that say screw it, leave it alone and not worry about problems with mods?
I left my Z close to stock. The only things I changed out were the brake pads, stainless steel brake lines, and DoT 4 fluid. I don't like alot of brake dust on my wheels.
A stock Z was good enough for me (except for the following wear items above). Living in California, mods aren't worth the trouble for extra HP or dodging cops. Second, it's much easier to sell a clean stock car than a modfied car. Third, I change cars every 3 years.
However, you have to decide how long you really plan to keep the car and decide whether the performace is really acceptable to your standards. As mentioned before, a stock car is easier to sell than a modified.

i've had mine a year and a little over a month and it is still stock. i am in college so i am going to wait until i get out of college and see where i am in my life and then decide what i am going to do from there.
Stock.
Owned my 04 Touring since November 20, 2004.
Only changes thus far:
BFG KDW2 tires - stock size
K&N drop in
Hawk brake pads
I bought the car to be left alone for a while since I had already gotten burnt out on trying to mod my last car - it wasn't a Honda/Acura or Toyota so mods were custom designed/made by me after a while and I still feel I didn't have much to show for it all.
I am planning on getting a Veilside V1 lip and repainting the front rock chip magnet bumper and adding a clear bra soon.

Bone stock since day 1. It's now 2 years old.
The reason is I want to get a really good feel for what this car can do out of the box. I've taken the Z to the track a couple of times already, and it's so funny to roll up on all these other highly modified/gutted Z's and have their owners gawk and say "NOOOOO way! A STOCK Z! Are you the only guy who has one? I didn't think these things even EXISTED like this anymore!"
Driving the Z around the various tracks in California (Fontana, Streets of Willow, Laguna Seca, etc), I'm getting a good feel for what this car needs in order to administer a proper beat-down for those pesky Miatas with amped up motors or those S2000 with lord-knows-what done to them.
But until the mods come, I'll just keep the car "classic" and just continue to wave politely at the STi's and Evo's and M3's that rev at me everytime we're stopped at a light (I'll keep it on the track).

I bought my car planning to just get a decent sound system and be done with it... but not even a week after completing my sounds I put in the order for shift ****, blitz spoiler, and JDM tail lights.... all my friends were like "I told you so." hahaha hope this is the end for now. Damn you my350Z members for showing such nice cars!!!!!!!
I modded my last Z; had a plenum spacer, Pop-Charger, ground kit, underdrive pulleys, Hotchkis sways and springs. The car was fun, but the amount invested didn't really get me the gains I was expecting.
As of now, my 1 week old 07 has a clear bra and tint. After a few cars and a bit of modding, I actually have come to appreciate a stock vehicle and consider it the "artist's original vision", and therefore don't wish to mess with it.
If anything, I will buy an iPod adapter for the stock stereo. I like the Z the way it is, but who knows what may happen down the line; if I do feel the need to mod, it will be Nismo stuff only. Still factory, but not quite stock
Oh, and wheel spacers. The stock rims look great, they just need to be a little "wider" looking/ sit flush with the fenders.
