Default 04 Track vs 07 Z

im driving an 04 track Z with an intake. and my friend who has the new 07 Z automatic with a nismo exhaust. we raced and i beat him pretty easily. does anyone know why this is?

i know, he has an auto and its slower than the 6spd. but thats wierd huh?
hes told me hes beatin alot of other Z's. but not the track model. and i know the track model is a lot lighter than most the others.

04 track > 07 auto Z?

i have 2 runs on video, but i know i cant be posting illegal street racing on this site.

the first run i beat him pretty easily. but the second video i made a mistake and the race was alot closer. both races were also at a 1st gear roll (so around 25mph) in the second race i popped the clutch thinking i can maybe get more kick, but that was a mistake haha.

here they are

I think you mainly beat him because you have a 6 speed and he has an auto. If his car were a 6 speed like yours, it would have either been neck and neck or he might have slightly come out ahead.

ya we all get that on the internet too. but what r u saying? give us an opinion.

and my redline hits at 6,700 (according to my rpm gauge and computer gauge).

no where near 6,200 thats for sure.

but what about weight?

the 04 track Z weighs 3,182lbs. how much does the 07 weigh?

how many miles on the 07? maybe engine isn't completely broken in yet? I'm pretty sure many people would agree that with a new engine it takes a couple thousand miles before it reaches its full potential.

Ah... nice cars but did he have those huge *** rims on the car when racing you? cause if he did that would almost certainly account for the loss. Not saying our 07's should win, but i would imagine it to be neck and neck all the way at least.
p.s. i don't like that huge *** nismo sticker across the front

you're sitting here boasting about a street race and yet im a douche bag? dang man. i think its about time you start enjoying your car, instead of putting everyone elses down to make yours seem better.

you have an intake? so do i man! i bet you even ur friends 07 nismo has an intake too. ****. i wanna see a car that DOESNT have an intake. that would be impressive.

clearly your friend did something wrong because its not going to be "neck to neck". He should have pulled on you pretty hard in all situations, unless of course his TC was on and it cut power.

so him having those huge aftermarket rims had nothing to do with it? OP didn't state if they were on when he raced.
