there's a video floating around of a turbo Z beating a motorcycle, an F1 car and fighter jet. the cars you mentioned shouldn't be a problem.

 

 

The cars you've listed: probably driver-dependent (although if you ask an STi owner or a 'Stang GT owner, they'll tell you they smoke Z's every single day).

However, I don't consider those cars "big boys", as you've stated. "Big Boys" to me are going to be the C6s, 997s, Vipers, current M-badged BMWs, and, no, the stock Z won't be keeping up with them.

What r u talking about? I beat saleen 06' , 300 SRT-8 and M3 05' (automatic) during take off to 100+. G35 and S2000 is definitely out of the picture. Out ran STI in high speed.
G35 will out run Z with the same $ spend? U sure?

If you like the car, and you have the money, then just buy it. Its a great f***ing car that you will enjoy everyday for as long as you have it, or until a window motor goes out, or until you get that front dash rattle, or until you get that hatch rattle. You will still enjoy it regardless, just not as much until those issues are fixed.

FYI Ive beaten every single car you have mentioned (even an 06 GT Stang which couldnt handle for chit, took him on the twisties no problem)

And please dont turn into a speed demon and speed 24/7 or try racing every single car you see (ESPECIALLY hondas, my God I would strangle you if you even gave them the satisfaction) I got my Z when I was 16, have had it for over a year now and only been pulled over twice for speeding (75 in a 60, and 45 in a 30) I rarely go 15 over. I just dont want to see you on the news with your Z split in half and have everyone on this forum bashing the "younger drivers" even though I hear about 21+ guys getting pulled over and crashing more often.

I see this kid wrapping a Z around a tree.

 

For the love of god don't get a Z for drag racing, since it can't hang with the "Big Boys" on the drag strip I suggest you pawn it off and buy a 5.0GT and do a bunch of mods and feel happy that you can go straight very fast.

LOL, mustang GT, thats funny. the current '07's are faster than a current shelby gt, or any previous models for that matter, and Z's have always been faster than G's.

 

I bet we see a news article about you crashing your Z and killing yourself and or others.
