I VOTE TEST DRIVE!!! look at all the cars you mentioned since many are or would be similar in price and see what you like. If you like the style and feel of the Z then get one if not choose another. The Z is my second car I did drive a large truck before it and was tired of being slow and having to pay seventy five dollars to fill up every week and a half. I fell in love with the look and feel of the Z and bought mine when I was nineteen (in case you all were wondering my money both times) It all depends on what you want and feel you are capable of handeling

did i say anything bad about the lotus... i did say in the other thread i wanted a lotus (if i was rich)... point blank boxster S is a nice car... is fast and looks nice but i think is a little too much for what it can do... thats all!!!!

(and i know hp isnt everything... i thought i already said that earlier)

ok back to the topic... I think all those cars you listed will all depend on the driver... Now if the drivers are both average drivers it would all be close... I raced my friend with a 2006 evo off a 25mph 2nd gear roll and i beat him by maybe 1 car... but then on the drive how a black evo passed me and i couldnt catch him... he kept pulling

(my friends evo is stock just like my 350Z.. the black evo i know had a blow off valve but besides that... no idea)

Wow, simply wow. X Z owner buys a Porsche then bashes Z. I think he regrets not spended half of that dough on TT's at this point. Now, I know I don't want another Porsche. Snobs. Just reminds me of the breed...... Yes, I have owned two Porsches and every owner I met thought they were all that. Porsche is not all that...... Especially for the money. Well, maybe a Turbo Carrera GT is all that ... But, who has an extra $480K in their back pocket. That's about what I paid for my house not too many years ago. I'd love one but I'd sneak it out the back so that I could enjoy the sound of the engine and the feel of the car not the public response.

I'd sell my mom for this enzo though:

j/k - It's just a car, there is more to life ....

Don't get me wrong, I didn't mean to give the impression that I'm bashing the Z or any other car. I loved my Z for the 3 years I owned it and wouldn't hesitate to buy another. IMO the Z is still the sports car to beat in the bang-for-the-buck department, and has standard features that even high-end Porsches don't have.

It's the ignorant, uninformed kiddie boy racers who think the Z is the be-all and end-all of sports cars that I have a problem with. And I'm sure you'd agree that statements like "Boxsters are slow as sh*T" don't belong here or anywhere else.

OMG where did i say Z was the best sports car out there... U basically spoke for me when u said Z is a great bang for the buck (while a 55 thousand dollar boxster S IS NOT!!!!) and yes a Boxster is slow... a BoxsterS is slow for its price... there is a difference between boxster and boxster s... when i wrote that i wrote boxster NOT S!!!!!!!!!! so I was right

K - Got you wrong. Please, enjoy your car for what it is. An awesome car!
Don't get caught up in the Porsche status carp. That was the only thing that bothered me about owning my Porsches. The one ups. Plus the idiots that would target it and key, dent or spit on it at the store. No respect.

Drive it and enjoy your ride. My regrets.

I see your point and he probably took offense being a new Porsche owner. It takes a lot of savings and hard work to get one. At least he's man enough to respect the bang for buck argument. So, he's pretty kewl. This is a common change people make in their mind. I was thinking the same when you posted.

My buddy has a boxster "NOT S" and it handles really nice. However, he can't keep up with me for 10 seconds in the turns. All I have to do is slow down if I'm in the front and then floor it out of the turns. Or, if I'm behind pass him out of the turns. That is of course if he doesn't block me. Our torque down low is awesome..... for the buck. 25K vs 42K

You know, saying "so I was right" as many times as you can doesn't make it any more so.

What the hell does "slow for its price" mean? Want a price/hp ratio? A Boxster is $224/hp while a Z would be $103/hp. By your reasoning, a $200000 Ferrari F430 ($408/hp), $440000 Carrera GT ($727/hp), and a $1.1M Bugatti Veyron ($1098/hp) are all "slow for its price". Get real. And if you REALLY want to get technical, you can factor in the 0-60 numbers to each of the ratios. Doesn't look good for those exotics now.

hell no i love (but will never ever own) a veyron! Im talking about realistic prices for the "average" person and when i said price i mean bang for the buck... like it was said the reg. boxster is like 13gs more and is slower than a Z and yes the type s version is faster but its so much more money... thats my point

No offense, Dad passed a year ago ... I'm getting over it. I was saying sell mom as a joke. It's OK. She's lucked out three times already; Cancer, Accident, and Apindex(sp). However, she'll probably outlive me. But, if she passes before me; some money will come this way and it will be for retirement; as much as I would want a Enzo. I can't really use it. I don't race in that class. And imo it's stupid to drive one on the street. Too much work for the street if you understand that type of car. The Z is a perfect DD driver and weekend car. I have other cars that are more track worthy. That reminds me I shoud get to sleep so I can drop in that motor in the drag car tomorrow. Doh !!! n/k
