Can the 350z keep up in speed?
Ive read alot over the past few days that ive been a member about 350z.
It seems to me that everyone loves the way the car looks but thinks it isnt in the same leauge as various other cars when it comes to speed, such as Wrx, Sti, Mustang Gt, G35, ect.
Whats the deal? I like the car as im sure most of you do but can it really hang with the big boys? Or am I just reading uninformed posts.

dunno what your reading....I outran a STi on hwy....stock 2003 5at...
Many others have outrun Stangs, wrx's, and obviously the g35...which is a 350z w/ a few lbs. added.
One thing to remember is the driver is often more important than the car.

Speed is different to everyone. Comparing to what u described the wrx is no match for a Z unless weather is the dominant factor in its stock form. The Sti from a roll isnt much of a challenge especially for a 07 if thats what u have. The mustang cannot handle for **** and in its stock form is putting up 1/4 numbers similar to the 07 in its stock form .The g35 is a heaver Z and its slower because of that and doesnt handle 100% equally because of weight and a longer extended chassis. ( the G is really close though ) . And theres nothing else u mentioned. I personally would take a Z on a road race course over any of the mentioned.

yea it doesnt matter pick you poision i,ve beat all of those cars and only one of them could even hold a candle and that was the sti and is was from a stand still and that all wheel drive launch is pretty handy but from a roll on a highyway i've smoked it and not to mention iam completely stock except a k&n drop filter so your probally reading there forums and they r all bias cause they all hate z drivers

The main reason I asked this was because from what ive read it would appear the 350z will get a perfomance upgrade in the 09 versions and yet I see the other cars that are considerd in the 350z's league are getting their upgrades in 08.

its because ppl who talk crap about Z's dont know how to drive. they under estimate the Z.
theres no way in hell the WRX can beat a Z. ive beaten a couple with my Z, (which only has an intake).
ive beaten 99-04 mustang GT's (but havent raced the 05-^)
ive beaten G's easily.
alot of ppl talk bad about the car cuz they cant afford it. and its sexy

Also, the Mustang GT's have areo issues. (At least, the first versions of the latest gen. did in 05') The back end "lifts" over 140mph, enough to see from outside the car.
