From time to time I get the thumbs up or wave, but mostly its the "" I know your starring at me so Im gonna look straight ahead and not acknowledge you"". I never really see to many moded z's out here, unless im in the OC or the valley.

Yes, I notice with in my 350 Z, not my previous 5 Z's however. I guess a lot of newer owners don't understand the culture.

In my last Z any Z owner would wave back. That held true for 2003 and then in 2004 when I bought the new Z. But it seemed in 2005 or 6 that many of the owner bought the car cause it hot not knowing we have a pretty friendly crowd.

Don't forget there are a lot of people on the cell, listening to ipods, texting, etc... nowadays and not all are paying attention to traffic. That's what scares me. It used to be drive because it fun to drive. Now, it's drive because you have to drive.

With the exception of LA or East San Jose, Oakland and few other places ....I'd say keep on waving....
A wave or headlight flash in bad areas can get you killed.

Maybe eventually, that courtesy will come back.

alot of the times i get a wave. i always give a wave, thumbs up, or a heads up sort of deal. no point in having an akward moment, thats totally pointless. you both have the same car, wheres the problem?

usually i get a little chat chit (yea i said chat chit, i flipped that ****, there just words--dane cook) started, and talk about what we have done to our cars.

but today i was driving, saw a white 06 with rims and exhaust. pulled up next to him to give a thumbs up, and hes looking stright forward, like hes trying to open the trunk of the car in front of him with his laser sight. the entire time, not one glance. he gives a rev, andd im thinking...wow this guys a tool, i should just sucker him and take his headlights and taillights. so he keeps revving. and as we start rolling, i let the boost creep up a bit. needless to say, shut him up real quick. as i turned, i proceeded to give a thumbs up out the window, but due to his awesomeness, he didnt give one back. oh well, some people.

it seems like alot of the z guys act like there too cool to talk to another enthusiast, regardless of the car.

Sometimes. I find all kinds of Z drivers all the time. The cool guy that acknowledges or waves, the guy that doesn't care, the too-cool-to-look-even-though-you're-in-the-same-car guy, the hardass that tries to act faster.

For quite a while now though I've noticed most of the Z drivers I've encountered are the too-cool ones. The person that refuses to even look, especially when I'm driving right next to him or stopped next to him

Most of the Z drivers i pass here in Canada seem to nod or wave. its all the other drivers that seem to cop the attitude and then try to race you. I 've had vans, suvs, sunfires etc... i just sit back and laugh, i really dont understand it. hahahah i wont do that when a viper shows up beside me, i just look over and admire.

Haha z drivers around here don't even acknowledge you own a z. They are stuck up ******, they should not be allowed to own one. You can read more of my rant and raves in the southcentral area, cruising the coast thread.
