Ticket for a really bogus reason
Yet drinking hot starbucks coffee, while doing makeup in the mirror, talking on the phone, and smoking at the same time, is considered absolutely legal behavior while driving.
I blame the stupid laws, not the cops.
Tossing the cigarette out the window is a BIG peeve of mine. I've had a few hit my car on the highway. Makes me feel like driving by and tossing a large flaming wooden torch into their lap. Ya like that you f**k?!
I'm with you on that one. I freaking hate when people tossing lit cigarettes out their windows. It is the epitomy of rude and its a major cause of brush and/or forest fires. Never mind the risk of having the cigarette sucked in the window/sunroof of the car behind.
I had posted this peeve a while ago on the Maxima.org website. Ended up with a bunch of smokers telling me stop whining and it doesn't hurt the car or paint.
My reply was that used tampons wouldn't hurt the car or paint either, but I'm sure they'd be pissed if somebody threw it out the window and it hit their car.

Grra-aghhh!!! Drivesolo angry!!! Grr...!!
Steve, this situation truly and utterly "pisses me off"! A few months back during the first week I got my Z some jerk pulls me over for doing 37 in a 35 mph zone. He refused to tell me if he had any radar data on me and slapped me with a fine for doing 50 in a 35!
I hear what you're talk'n about when you mentioned that some law enforcement departments are using tickets to bring in the $ they feel they are entitled to. This is definitely the situation here in Washington State (Seattle area). The streets and highways are thick with cops even during rush hour traffic waiting to bust anyone for whatever reason and cause even more traffic and road hazards.
I contested the ticket and hired a traffic attorney; the case is still being reviewed. Yeah it's a bit excessive for a $87 ticket, but there's no way that the bastard to fined me to get away with this garbage. It seems like I am in agreement with the majority of people that have responded to you on this forum. I would encourage you to fight this ticket if it's financially acceptable for you. We're being unjustly persecuted by the people that have been assigned to "serve and protect" us. Also at the risk of making lawyers even richer, it's worth making it as costly for these corrupt individuals to get the message that more tickets will just bring them more problems.
Good Luck Steve

That is so lame. I agree with contacting NNA - tell them you have the support of a major 350Z fansite with thousands of readers (I assume some savvy people at NNA have a clue about fansites like this).
Shoot, let's all send you 5 bucks to help cover gas. Take'em down, killer. =)

I thought I had been persecuted for driving a Z, but compared to the rear window thing...
I've been pulled over and ticketed twice in the last 2 months for totally bogus excuses.
1. Speeding - I had cars in front of me, beside me, and behind me on a two lane street - I was totally boxed in. Stop lights on 1/8 mile increments - All red. Cop pulls me over for speeding (I wasn't) after following me 1 1/2 miles. Apparently I must have been pushing the car in front of me and dragging the one behind me. And pulling the one beside me in my wake.
2. Obstructed rear license plate - You know the clear covers practically everyone covers their stupid bent plates with and are commonly ignored by cops...I got a non-moving violation fine.
