Default Auto vs. manual......?

Climate control that is. Sorry, couldn't resist. =D

So do you guys flick your CC on Auto? Or do you toy around with it yourself? I personally prefer controlling the CC myself.

Well it depends, in traffic I go auto. On country roads you can't beat the feel of a manual air control

Funny, Ive never had climate control in my life until I got this car (3 weeks ago). I didnt use it for the first little while, didnt really understand it I guess. So I decided to play with it this weekend...all the settings! My conclusion, the climate control is GREAT, esp. when you dont want to think about the temp. Just put it on full auto, put it on 75 degrees or whatever, let the car control the vents too (I always have to kick off the A/C, this car loves to turn that **** on as much as possible). I like how the auto wont throw out air until its warm (in the winter, havent experianced summer yet)

PS: nice thread title, I came in just to see the blood n gore!!

haha i came in thinking god not again. I use auto after the car has cooled down on hot days. When i first get in its full blast till its cool. Then i hit auto and keep it on about 65 or so The ac in the Z rocks. i love it. I had dual climate control in my silv. ss before my z and i hated it. Everytime the other person turned theres up it would turn the fan down. So i would always get hot now its all about me .

I don't know manual, so I say Auto. Especially in high traffic or uphill.

Anyone know if there is additional wear on the compressor or any other part -- with having the compressor kick on and off constantly while driving? I know some people believe you should never start a car with the AC on, since there is added strain on the motor before the oil has a chance to work it's way up from the pan. But what about having the compressor kick in while the engine is doing 3K RPM or higher?

Not talking about any HP decrease...
