Whoa, slow down on the Mustang bashing... That was my first car. I still have it. Though it probably gets jealous because I drive the Z so much (will never part with it for sentimental reasons).

Sell it for a turbo.

My 06 Z beats my friends 06 Mustang GT from a roll every time. Never gone from a dig.

Whoa, you all really like to bash people.... To get things straight this isn't a mommy/daddy purchase, I have owned 3 Mustangs and I have paid payments on all of them.. I'm glad to hear the 350z is quick, I will defiantly be joining the 350z crowd... but maybe not this community.

Hah, take it easy killer. You have to take people's comments with a grain of salt. You came on a 350Z board and flat out said that mustang's are superior to the 350z in a straight line. You couldn't be farther from the truth. I guess you haven't actually lined up against a 350z with a competent driver. I've yet to be beaten by a lightly modded 05-07 mustang. For the amount of displacement they have, mustangs are slow as molasses. Go test drive a 350z, and see for yourself.

It'll be quite a change up coming from a Mustang to a Z. Tire shearing torque and blistering straightline aren't the Z's forte, so don't expect a light to light monster.

As for not joining the community: just stay out of the "General" forum; its infested with noob-flesh eating sharks Check out your regional forum for local meetups and the tech sections for the most highly detailed information on the Z you will find anywhere. Welcome aboard!

i drove a 2006 GT recently.. it's **** slow.. and the 07 350z will blow it's doors off.. the 03-06 will pull a solid 2+ cars on the highway STOCK.

The Z is not the best straight line mad torque like a few cars out there like others have mentioned. The Z excel in road course driving. I have to say that it will take a special type of person to own a Z. It's not really a practical car so I would recommend to get a beater that you can go and get grocery with. As for that, it's a very fun car to drive. Go and test drive one. Magazine racing is not as fun as actually taking corners with a Z.
