Default 350z and all my stuff...

Ok... I just picked my silverstone up at the dealer this afternoon... YAY, but unfortunately it is raining (as usual) here in NYC tonight. So no driving for me. So I figure, the Z and I need some bonding time, so i would read through the book, input all my settings, put all my stuff in the car.
The last stage is where I run into issues. It turns out i have too many electronic gadgets, and only one outlet to share among them. 1) Cell Phone 2) Radar Detector 3) iPOD (gotta have tunes). What should i do about this? the radar also is a pain to have running from the back of the car all the way to the windshield. Anyone here hardwire a few extra outlets into the car and mount them in the passenger footwell? that was one of my thoughts.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

just buy an socket hub. it plugs into the socket and has 2 or 3 ports. I think sharper image has them, even walmart.

Thanks for the idea.. I have one of those I could use. Any ideas on running the power to my radar detector all the way up in front of the car? That's my real problem i think. Thanks for any input.

Yes, your definantly gonna have to do a hardwire. Radioshack sells them for under $10.

If you have the Homelink you can grab power right off your mirror.

Default iPod

I see one of the gadgets you mentioned was an iPod. Do you have an mp3 input on your head unit, or do you play it through a cassette adapter?

if you dont take power from homelink(cool idea tho) you can run it through the headliner and down the A pilar(I think thats the correct term), right into footwell, and where ever you go from there.

as for getting power to the front for pluging things in... well I could come up with a million creative ways of mounting a jack up front, but thatd be a very long post, and Id have to open things up and just generally look around for some spare space to fit it.

Thanks for the ideas... I will look into some ofthem over the next few days and hopefully come up with a solution I think I will most likely go with the hardwire for a few extra sockets up front.

Fotodad, since i just got the car I'm afraid I haven't done any work on it for an aux input into the head unit or something of that sort. For now, I will be using a silly little casette adapter to get my tunes in. Not bad sound quality, though not the best of course (and not quite so clean looking either).

Default Ipod connection option

I know the number of cigarette lighter "ports" is an issue, but a friend of mine has a nifty accessory for his IPOD. It plugs into the cigarette lighter, serves as a holder for the IPOD and also has an FM radio transmitter that is powered from the car. Pretty sweet setup, it works well in his car...
