The Sky and Solstice aren't actually offered in a V8 form from the factory. They're only offered with the 2.4 (or maybe it's 2.2) ecotec engine that's either N/A or turbocharged.

Mallett offers a conversion for the Solstice, though I'm sure you could do the same with the Sky, since the only difference is in the sheet metal and interior quality. Here is the website. It's actually an incredibly high quality conversion. The price runs around $20K, I believe.

You can go all the way up to a 900HP turbocharged LS7 with a fully built drivetrain. Think of the power-to-weight in that!

We're considering a Lotus Elise for our FJ, which we had for almost a year. The Elise are really cheap for a moderately used car with 5K-10K miles for a 2005, or 2006. They use Toyota engine which is great especially their inline 4, engine parts shouldn't be expensive. The one thing I hate is that if it gets touched in a very minor accident, they Elise will look like it is in a major accident. I saw one a month ago, an orange Elise got the front bashed in while the other import car looked like it scrap in the bumper. Daily driving is out of the question, it is like everyone says, an adult go-cart.
