yea i don't know ... once again none of my instrument cluster lights come on and it starts up with the single turn of they key, the headlights are functional as well as the unlock/lock feature for the hood and trunk though the hook latch is a little out of place ... could also drive it, seems as if it's just front bumper, front driver fender and door, mirror, hood, and any allignment issues as well as having my airbags deployed back in which could cost some heavy money, what'd you guys think the cost will be and could they seriously total it when there's no frame damage etc? regardless i called my insurance company and they said they wouldn't raise my rates until six months when my policy ends ... on the bright side if the car is totaled they'll most likely pay my outstanding bank load but i'd rather have it repaired ... opinions again please.

tyler

The damage is big bucks. Looks like 5 body panels must be replaced. Air bag deployment is another bad sign. You must have hit something hard - very hard.

BTW how long did you own the car before the accident?

There’s no point in second guessing. The car will either be totalled or repaired. Either way it will cost you.

That's going to run high, when I got rear ended it cost them 10K and 46 working days...

Nah, I would not be so sure about this, I've seen worse accidents when airbags didn't deploy, I guess it's always about the g-force applied to the sensor, probably how fast the car was stopped during the crash. He has also mentioned the radiator is leaking, from how it is placed in the Z, I would say the radiator moved upon the impact and triggered the airbags sensor.

Either way, if they are going to total it, I would buy it off, after inspecting if there are no small cracks or bends to the front rails, and especially checking the dash for cracks, replacing those body panels is not much, from just seeing the pictures (but you can really judge by just looking at them) I would say it is a good opportunity to get a decent bodykit.

will350z: The damage to the rear is nowhere that bad as it was on your Z, replacing the whole rear quater panel could be PITA sometimes, and it is probably on the Z, haven't tried this and hope I won't ever have to.

Hey man I couldve sworn you posted in a facebook group how being under 18 is too young to own this car. Then you go on and post something like this? I guess being 18 still isn't old enough.

Hey tyler. I dont know where Hydes is but I own a Salvage Yard in Beltsville, MD and Hollywood, MD. If the insurance company decides to fix it, tell the adjuster to give me a call at (301)595-5595 or (800)764-1004, M-F 8-5.

I have all the parts you need to fix the car including airbags. I have entire front clip and rear clips already cut out and ready to be delievered to a body shop.

If the insurance company decides to total it, tell them to give me a call anyway. I have direct relations with most insurance companies already and will buy out the salvaged car. (I have yet to deal with Farmer's)

Let me know! I will take care of your fixing needs. If you need a reliable shop to have it repaired I know tons all throughout the entire state and region.

totaled ... no frame damage nor undercarriage damage except the radiator, repairs needed to be made mainly to the body panels and airbags. total cost of the repairs seem to equal 70 - 80% of the car's actual value. seems as if i only had my car for a week, i hate to see it go but fellow 350z fanatics ... i'm out, drive safe everyone and have a happy holiday.
