I dont think you would notice too much of a difference.

In engine power there is a difference for sure. But otherwise the car is the same.

my friend has an 06 and i let him drive my 07. He says that you can feel the power differance up top more, and that the extra 500 RPM's is nice.

We raced, and by the time we hit about 100, i had 1 car length on him.(keep in mind he is a way better driver then me, i shifted slow cause my car was still relatively new)

so overall, the car feels a LITTLE better, but not much difference. Howerver, i dont have oil consumption :-)

The drag times prove it is much faster than the engine it replaces. I have also raced a REV-UP with a ton of mods, and pulled him.

i saw a 13.1 but it had DR's. 13.1 on stock tires is very impressive.

how is the power delivery compared to the '06? anyone compare dyno's of an stock '06 and stock '07? it can't be the +6hp, +8tq, +500rpms that make it that much faster.

Search. Don't use factory specs to highlight the differences, because they don't mean much. In '07 the used different SAE ratings which made the hp gain look less than it actually is.

HR has a better power band in all areas, better peak hp, and 500rpm more.

You ran a 13.1? You should have them update the list in the drag section then, because, so far the best stock time is;

1. Peak350 ------------------------ 07 Enth 6spd 13.239@105.67mph 1.923 60ft

I've driven both, and I can surely say there is a big difference. The higher redline makes the 07 WAY more enjoyable to drive I think. The 07 "feels" much faster, and I can say this because I test drove both, not knowing there were different motors.
I'm still happy with my 06, but if I could do it again, I would've waited, and saved a couple more grand

Isn't a debate about VQ35HR performance a year out of date?

This topic is old.

I went to the drag stip for the first time few weeks ago and I raced Brian's (Britx) 04 with exhaust and intake. We had a few runs where both of our launches were similar. As we launched the 04 outran me through 1st but as 2nd approached we evened out and then as 3rd I started to pull up on him quickly. It was fun.

My impressions were a little different. I test drove an '08 and an '06. Both were Roadsters/autos. The '06 felt torqier, while the '08 felt like it had more top end. It was only slightly noticable to me.

In the end, the deal I got on the '06 won out over the power increase in the '08.

My thoughts is to hang onto it for a few years and see what the 370zr turns out to be....

Exactly - which means less HP and more Torque (if I remember the specs correctly).

i owned an 06 and drove my friends 08. the only difference that i could tell from the short time i drove the 08 is that the engine sounds quieter.

i had an 06 for about 3 months and then got an 07. very subtle interior differences. The engine does feel slightly more responsive.
