well, not to defend the auto arugment because i think its a loosing war, but usually inexpreinced drivers do put up times in the 14s with a 350z 6mt. I know its redioculous but in fact my previous expreinces going to english town upnorth saw alot of newbies hitting those times. Now understanding that its easy for a auto Z and compete with those driver and beat them consistantly because of driver error alone. This giving the impression that the merits goes to the auto . but in reality its driver inexpreince on how to make the most out of the 6mt while your preety much giving it all its got on a auto z on every pass.

To me its a matter of actually driving the car and making it perform what you expect it to know and knwing your car verses , the enormous dependancy on brakes and lack of rpm control in a auto. Hey the auto in the Zs are great for street driving but in a road course.....ill pass.

Hey when do you run and with what racing body?, i have been dying to get with some Zs and run on sebring you have to send me some info man PM if ya have to.
I go with Chin Motorsports, they have events usually 1-2 times a month
all over the eastern seaboard, there is a $50 membership fee per yr and it is
about $275-300 for a track day plus $75 instructor fee(required for
first 4 events at each different venue you attend until you get solo
qualified) it is a great club- I have been a meber almost 2yrs and went
as a guest for a couple of years before that.

Why do I see DomZ's name posted in the drag forum for fastest times with an auto, and your name, with your obviously superior transmission, is no where to be found?

I'm well aware of what you ran in your auto z. fact is, most auto zs will be in the 14's. You even running at a 13.6 is still slow. Even though my quarter time with bolts on is still not faster than your time stock (13.89x), it's no where considered fast. For a person who go to the drags, i thought you would of known that.

Maybe i'm just sensitive with the word "fast". I rather a person who runs in the 13's using the word "quick" or something. My friends would laugh at me if i told them that my car is fast. When they are consistently doing 10 second passes.

No wai! A 10 second pass is faster than a 13? Holy shit!

I hang out with a lot of friends who have much much faster cars than me but for what my car is it is decently fast and even they'd agree. I'm not trying to say we're amazing with our bolt-on Z's but we're not exactly Accords either. Fast is a relative term and you miss the fact that we were discussing auto vs. manual Z's - not other cars.

Nissan put a 3.3 fd in the slushbox and the mt6 got a 3.5 to equal things out a bit, so gear rowers would not get spanked all the time

ADDENDUM:

"unless driven perfectly"

RB understands where I'm coming from. I would get assraped on a road course against a car with equal mods but on the drag strip is where I would have a chance to at least keep up with my 6MT counterpart.

Who gives a **** anymore , I can almost taste my 08 6MT its so close.

Def i agree with you, on a 1/4 i wouldnt bet money on a 6mt Z vs a auto Z stock for stock unless the driver in the 6mt i know 100% certain is a expert at his craft or a never lift to shift fellow like alberto lmao. But yea you would be stupid to say in the 1/4 that it isnt close because it is.

Road racing is a different animal thus the advatanges and disadvantages become alot more evident. Even things such as tires gearing are evident even aero components. Its just a more variable driven beast. Transmissions are really evident on the courses.

But yea i agreee with dom aswell.
