Am I the only one trying to keep the Z forever?

I plan on keeping mine as long as possible. I always admired the guys who kept their muscle cars through hard times and rising gas prices. One day I'll take my son for a ride in it, but he wont drive it
keeping it. GTR as a daily driver then gutting the z...building the heads, block, huge twin custom turbo setup with equal length manifolds...motec..and trade the huge rear strutbar with bed in the back so i can bang fat chicks in it.
Keeping mine forever was the plan. Lifetime oil change from my dealership, ~$300 (all I have to do is buy synthetic oil), lifetime brake pads from Napa, ~$120 (all four corners), some Marvel mystery fluid every other oil change.
Decent advice – especially for the snow-states.
I definitely plan on keeping my Z as long as possible. Hell, it’s only my 3rd car!
The last car I owned for nearly 14 years and would have it still except that I was crashed into by a woman in a S500 who ran a red light.
Saddest part is I just got the car back from the shop for installing a remanufactured engine and had it for 7 days and 390 miles.
As for the Z, I’ve owned her for 4 years and only plan to lightly mod it – it’s 99% stock currently. I highly doubt it will see any snow (at least in the next few years).
Also, the trick to help prevent rust (at least what worked for me while I lived in CO for college) was to wash, or hose off at least, the car as often as possible during the winter.

Bought a 2007 brand new and hope to have it in 2057.
The only way I will give it up is if i can't have it and a C6 at the same time. That decision, however, will not happen until sometime in the distant future, so the Z is safe for a good while.

We can only wish to have that much hotspar at your age. I always intended when I purchased my Z just over 4.5 years ago to keep it for a very, very long time, it's an evolving beast like a lot of Z's. Been through so much with this car, it ain't going anywhere I hope.
Lol, it's only taken 30 odd years for the old 240z's to be hunted out and really worth a fair bit of dosh again.
Not to sure about for everrrrrrrrrr. But i will be keeping my Z a very long time or till i get offered a great price to buy it!
as far as no drilling, behind the battery you can use the harness port that has the rubber fitting to run all your wires through with out the need of poking holes into your firewall. Or most of the accessories i use as far as lighting and what not is all run on a wireless remote 24 channel. ( i dont have 24 things, but it's an in case i do thing)
next z to probably come out will be a 400Z. 4.0!

I WILL NEVER TRADE MY Z!! I will track the crap outta here............but another car........track that...........get another car......track that..........next you know.......ill have a ton of cars....

Rule #1. Never, ever drive it in bad weather. Neither snow nor rain.
Rule #2. Keep it garaged.
Rule #3. Keep the proper maintenance schedule.
My goal, have under 100,000 after 20 years.
See? Pretty simple.

My Zed's the 6th Nissan I've owned: so far, so good. If it keeps behaving as it has been,
I'll die with it (I'm planning on retiring next year). It's an 'O4 Touring Coupe with just
18+k on it. Only the best goes in the engine:1. MOBIL 1, 5W30 oil; 2. MOBIL 1 oil filter; 3. K&N drop-in air filter; 4. Prestone 50-50 mix coolant, etc. Time will tell if it holds up!
No feathering, no oil-consumption issue, up to 2 weeks out of a tankful (I live just 10 miles from work).

Just washed mine last night after an autocross last weekend in the rain and it looks brand new again. I have been lucky as far as my paint holding up (heard a lot of people complaining about the 03's having bad paint). I did have to have my front bumper repainted and I did kill a cone pretty badly last weekend so I chipped some more paint off, . Another year or 2 and I'll repaint the bumper again. I have thought about selling the Z before but I just couldn't do it. I don't think I could find another car that I would enjoy driving as much.
