Hmm, I always get the price of product and price of shipping before anything gets ordered, why would they have done differently for you? Even on their website, you can caculate cost of shipping...

Looks like your were kinda 50/50 on your order, and that's where the confusion evolved. I've been in this position before, only to find out I could have gotten my order closer, faster, and for a better price...except, I handled it differently and just took the loss and kept my initial order. To some you may sound like you don't make sense, but I understood what you were trying to do even though it didn't come out clear. It sux to be in this situation.

That’s my thought as well. Obviously he wasn’t committed to the order or he would not ask for notification before shipping. A timeframe of four to six weeks isn’t that long for a backorder. Cancelling the order isn’t unusual, but demanding that it’s re-routed while in transit is tricky, as he learned from this experience.
