Put this engine in a 250lbs lighter car, with a slightly longer first gear (traction), and shorter every other gear, and some better tires, and it'd be prime.
Edit- about the 1st gear, other cars like the GTO exceed 38+, while prime shifting in the Z is around 28-30
Oh, and add a smoother transmission that doesn't break every 20,000 miles.

If you are looking for nothing but a straight-line beast, there are a couple of better options available. If you are looking for what I consider to be a "true" sports car, then the Z is the way to go for this price range.

Replicable numbers exist (and have existed) on the 350Z in every car mag and internet site since it was released. I'm sure numeric values convey much more reliable information as to the performance potential of this (or any) vehicle than subjective anecdotes.
You can therefore juxtapose the Z's performance numbers against any car you wish and answer that question for yourself.
