I have the 5AT for the same reasons as the above poster. Traffic and the price was unbeatable.

What you heard is correct. The 5AT is excellent, and the shifting is quick and precise, and is probably only slower than the 6MT if there is a superb driver at the wheel of the 6MT who can shift on the dot every time.

The 5AT still sits me back in my seat when I lay on the throttle, and that's enough to make me smile.

That was a great post with the times. I am going to be a butt and ask you if those were all coupes or are there any roadster times in there.

I think a 5AT with a VB is fantastic. Need to save more money damnit.

Aren't too many Roadster Timeslips floating around. Check that thread though.

The best thing about the 5AT I would think is the convenience of the auto with the performance of a stick. So should it be assumed the guys dragging the Z with the Auto left it in D or used the manual shift option?

350z Coupe > S2k > 350Z Roadster. 350Z roadster only looks good when the top is down. IMO

I was wondering the same thing too. That was kind of a vague post. The top will most likely be down all the time anyways. I think it looks good either way.

Yup. Performance wise Both 350Z > S2K. S2K simply have no Torque at all.

I don't think it's that easy of a generalization. No Torque on 2800lbs <> Torque on 3600lbs.

Thats good, the performance is a huge part of the choice. So have you driven both the 350Z roadster and the S2000 then?

I agree with the above post about a generalization though.

Great pics that actually helps out a lot. The ZR really makes the S look pretty plain.

Well last night I rode in my buddies new 05 STi. Wow those things are freakin fast. That was a fun ride. I asked my wife what she thought of them and she thinks they are ugly. I guess most women don't care how much horsepower a car has or how fast it goes as long as it looks sexy.

She loves the 350Z compared to the STi. Those things haul though. I was pretty impressed but am still leaning toward the 350Z.

kenpo, might want to see if she prefer the Evo over the STi. IMO, Evo looks and performs better than a STi, stock for stock.

I definately don't want an EVO though. I think I would miss the drop top if I even got the STi. Someone posted you can make the 350Z faster but you can't make the STi better looking. Wow what a ride though.

One other question for the ZR owners. When I check out exhausts. Will any exhuast work or do they make special kits for the ZR? Will I be okay look for any performance parts that work for the coupe?

When it comes to the exhaust, I don't think it makes a difference between the coupe & roadster. I have been to several sites for an exhaust for my ZR & none of them have different exhausts for coupe & roadster.
