Default keys

will the 350z have its own special keys? i mean, it has its own special steering wheel and everything...so will the keys have a nice "Z" on it or will it just have a nissan logo? i'd like to go up to people, hold up my key, and say "oh yeah...my Z.."

Funny, I was thinking the exact same thing but hadent posted about it yet. I hope they do. Like the Type R has its own key I think the Z should. If not I will be getting a NISMO key. Its not really your everyday Nissan so I dont want people who see my keys to think I drive an altima (not that there is anything wrong with that).

My '84 anniversary edition has a special key, like this:

The 90-96 Z's had keys made out of titanium. Very nice.

I'm hopeful that the 350Z has cool keys as well. It would be nice if the remote entry was built into the key (ala BMW).

I was wondering the same thing about the keys. Like ethan84ae said the 90-96 300's had a sweet key made of titanium.

But, more importantly my question is, where is the ignition? Is it on the column, or is it dash mounted? I love the look of the dash mounted ignition. ehtan84ae you sat in the car at the NY show did you make note of the placement of the ignition?

I haven't had the extreme pleasure of sitting in the car, but from the pix it seems to be on the column. ethan84ae, is this true?

When I saw the car at the NY auto show, it was on the steering column, in the typical place. The show car had a key fob with about 3 keys on it, so I'm assuming that that car is complete with engine

Anybody notice the etching on the mufflers? They have something written on them. I tried, but couldn't get a picture of it. I'm sure it's nothing, probably a manufacturer's name or something.

I know that they key is on the right side of the steering column, but I forget if it is mounted directly on the column, or if it is on the dash itself.

It's definitely on the steering column. Here's a shot I took at the Dallas auto show:

I dunno about you guys... but I think that more car companies should use the dash mounted ignition. It makes more sense to be able to see the key hole right in front of you then to have to look to the side. I know it is nit picky... but it is definitely something I feel is a nice convenience touch. The Lexus I drive has it, but the Infiniti's don't =(. hehe
