I love both my 05 STi, and my 08 350z.

Granted its hard for me to remember how my STi felt when it was stock(its been too long since it was bone stock).

However, from a roll the stock Z is quicker on the top, than the stock STi(i'd honestly say my stock 08 Z would hang with a Stage 2 STi from a roll).
The Z feels a million times more stable on the highway as well, (and thats with Cobb springs, sways, endlinks on my STi).

Obviously from a stop, even the STi with a moderately good driver and the Z with a great driver is probably going to be no contest- stop light to stop light.
The AWD launch is the *****.

They are both wonderful cars, for very different reasons. Both are a blast to drive for very different reasons. I'm proud to own both.

However, I see a very disturbing trend in the Suby community. The forum members and people you meet at meets and whatnot aren't so much the friendly guys I met when i purchased my original WRX in 02, nor the type of people i've met with my STi, over its first few years.

The owners are becoming younger. its fact- as the 04 and 05 STi's are popping up at 20k and slightly below(and Rex's even cheaper). With this comes young, arrogant, morons who think they are badass's. Thats not to say the Z community doesn't have its bad apples as well. However, all the guys i've met over the years have moved on to audi's, lexus, etc. leaving the suby community drained of its once intelligent and great community.

but to get back on track.....i know looks are subjective. i'll admit, inside i feel I have outgrown the looks of my STi(even though it still looks real badass). I have to say- I have NEVER gotten near the # of compliments on ANY car I have owned as I do on my Z(i've owned a lot of cars in the last 14 years). More importantly, I like it. I like how it looks, drives, sounds, etc. I could care less if some moron in an evo, srt, sti, another Z says anything about either of my cars.

I like them, and thats all that matters.

A stock Evo won't beat a stock STI? Lay down the crack pipe. Show me PROOF. Show me what the fastest/quickest times are for STI's in the 1/4. Although I already know (and I know that it's not as fast/quick as the fastest Evo times), I'd like to see if you actual know what you're talking about or if you're just pulling info out your ***. I'm willing to bet it's the latter.

New Evo engine (4B11t) garbage? Explain to me why it makes more power per bolt-on than the 4G63t. Or are you again pulling info out of your cavernous ***?

Wow being an 06 STI owner who stumbled here only for Nazar's awesome stereo deal on the Kenwood 8120 I have to say:
WOW to the hating by one mouthy STI owner and one troll who we don't even know has a car let alone may just enjoy stirring up comments.

We all love our cars for what they are.

Anything can be made fast with $$$.

I would like to consider myself a car enthusiast, and I do have to agree lately not just in the Subie community
I see lots of disrespect from youth today to people and property. Lots of kids that have mommy and daddy hand them cars and have no idea how to value money and hard work. They appreciate less the work and satisfaction one gets from owning their own car. It is becoming common the hate I see towards others either in the form of mouthing off or flat out violence and rage.

I earned my car - I have driven a 98 Civis Si, 97 Turbo Miata, and now my 06 STI. I appreciate many cars and love the variety of customization that people do. So much to learn, so little time.

Always wanted a vette since I was a kid but that is just one of my things.

So pardon my rambling but don't take one STI owner's disrespect as the word of every other driver on the road. It's one guy who just doesn't know how to appreciate.

People who don't know how to make friends miss out on the chance to swap cars and drive as much and as many different cars for free while having fun.

Yes, I'll go ahead and pay ~$5000 round trip to ship my car from Hawaii to Florida and for myself to fly there just to whoop your *** on the track. Unless you want to foot the bill, I'm not gonna waste my time.

The other day I dumped on an STI on the freeway, 80mph down shifted to 4th and pulled hard. By 120 I was 4 cars ahead. I was torn between these two cars but went for the 350z and I'm glad I did. STI's are fast and nimble but the Z's looks **** on the STI.

all in all after having A suby, evo IX , and just picking up the G35 couple weeks ago.. I would take the Evo over all

Sulowz- You're just narrow-minded, a lot of guys on here have massive respect for STI's and Evo's, however performance wasn't the only factor in us buying the 350. That's all you care about, 0-60, 1/4 runs, who you "smoke" on public streets, in my opinion THE Z IS FAST ENOUGH!!

You say you smoke 350s all the time, that's great, I'm happy for you (I'm not being sarcastic either), you sound like you do need the self esteem boosts. It's ok though, one day you'll have plenty of friends and they will have a lot of different cars, and you will have an epiphany and realise the STI isn't the only car on the road worth having.

You have a beautiful family car that goes really really fast! Enjoy it! I'm happy you're so passionate about cars, and yes I'll tell you that your STI would probably "smoke" (you like what I did there? I used your STI-street-racer-language ) my 350.

At the end of the day, I personally, would rather be driving a 350z behind any Sti. But I know you disagree

I prefer the kind of insults Clarkson on Top gear would have for just about any car. I remember even choice insults for 350z and STI/Evo's.

The only car he doesn't bad mouth are cars that cost more than most people's retirement 401k's or if it's British.

On a side note I guess STi's are so great that I haven't see a one even come close to the finals at the Evo Sti shootout here in Ohio.... Well I guess that might have something to do with Buscher Racing being so close, DAMN he makes some fast *** Evo's.
