Default 3M Ultrashield

I got an email back from the CEO of Ultrashield, who manufactures the 3M clear bra and he informed me that they will have kits available in a few weeks after the release of the Z. My local installer out of Raleigh gave me a quote of ~$300 for all pieces installed, this included headlights, side mirrors, nose and partial hood. all with a 5 year guarantee. should be an interesting product.

I guess this stuff doesn't yellow at all. But if it gets damaged is it hard to reinstall? I mean, after a number of years I suspect it may not be all that invisible so can it be removed and re-done?

I too am interested in this product but have not pursued it yet.

I am doing the partial hood only. I know you CAN take it off - but it is very labor intensive.

the search button did not reveal the confirmation of the manufacture of a nissan 350z kit and release date.

You are welcome as you were the one I was replying to... as opposed to the nitwit rude post two above.

I called them and they should have the first kit available approximately two weeks after they see their first Z (they expect in a few weeks to see one).

They also said that some of the kits are not that great and a custom install may be the better way to go (again, they have not seen one yet). Price would be in the ballpark of $500 installed. The 350Z has a lot of front edge surface.

I have the 3m clear bra on my Altima. It's over 3 years old and has not yellowed , cracked, bubbled, or peeeled at all. I got dinged on the passenger fender, no damage to the bra, only to the metal underneath (not sure I like that trade-off).

I'd recommend it highly. One note: though it's clear, you will notice a line where it stops, which at first glance looks like a scratch all the way across the hood. It'll freak you out, especially on your new Z, until you're used to it.

Check with your dealer. Spoke with my dealer today and they are going to be doing it. Don't know what the cost will be yet. Looked at it on an Altima they had done and it really looked super (or should I say didn't look? Since it is transparent).
