Default 350z RB26 / SR20 Value?

hey everyone, what do you think the resale value of a 2004 350z with an rb26 motor installed with roughly 25,000 miles on the motor? Also, what do you think the resale value would be on a 04 z with an sr20 with the same milage? Any opinions are greatly appreciated! Cheers!

$0 unless you actually have one.

Any type of estimate would have to go inline with the quality of the install. If it's done professionally, you might get a higher price. But unless it's an outstanding conversion, I'd expect it to sell for less than a VQ35DE rebuild. Otherwise, a backyard conversion could backfire and end up costing more for parts than you'd ever sell it for.

Some points to consider:

-How much experience (with RB26 or SR20 installs, specifically) does the shop have that is trying to do the conversion?
-Does the '04 Z have a salvage or clear title?
-Will the car meet emissions (depending on where you're trying to sell it at)?
-Any custom equipment or features besides the powertrain install?

unless you found some bozo specifically looking for a Z with that conversion the car would be worth less to 95% of the population. Of course there are several bozo's out there that would buy it because its rare, so i would say add $5000 onto what the Z is worth with the VQ in it. That is considering that everything is in perfect condition and the car runs so clean it's amazing. Any hiccups in the engine/car or driving and it isn't worth a dime because nobody is going to want the headache you would be trying to get rid of.

Do the RB26. But transfer over the AWD drivetrain as well. You will get a LOT of respect if it works out.

AWD RB26 350z would basically be amazing.

(and heavy + gutless if you kept the motor stock)

It would be different, and I'd respect it if it is cleanly done. But I'd never buy it.

I'd buy it if it was reasonably priced

I'd buy it but I wouldn't pay a ton for it. Probably more than a stock VQ35 if the install was well documented and well done.

I wouldn't buy a Z with an SR20, but I'd definitely buy if it had an RB26 or a 2JZ-GTE.
