Default 350Z Weight Index

Has anyone compiled a weight index for the 350Z yet? I helped make one for the A70 Supra with a few other members, putting everything on the scale from body panels to engine parts. Since getting my Z's I've been saving weights of everything, both OEM and aftermarket. If anyone wants to help host/build a database for the weights post it up, or if there is already a good one I haven't found yet...

It'd definitely be nice to have all of it compiled in one list. Hope someone goes through with it

Here's a few to start you off, bearing in mind the Cat might be slightly different, due to laws etc in NZ.

1. Stock Catatalytic converter x 2 = 14.75 Kg
2. Stock Y-Pipe = 7.25 Kg
3. Stock Mid pipe + Stock Muffler = 20.9 Kg
4. StockAxle assembly (right handside) = approx 8kgs
5. Aluminum rear subframe = approx 15kgs
6. Megan Racing stainless resonated front pipe x 2 = 7.25 Kg
7. Megan Racing stainless Y-Pipe = 4 Kg
8. Fujitsubo Legalis R Stainless Exhaust = 16 Kg

I might be able to start doing some of this, will likely have a place to host it, too. PM me in a day or so, and I'll let you know.

/me wishes this site would have started a wiki like 5 years ago.... then this idea would have already been done..... the amount of information that would be quickly accessible would be mind boggling... instead we have to bang our heads on the "search engine", if one would even call it that. Too bad that "other site" doesn't have enough members to make their wiki worth much. (although it is better than no wiki at all)...

so enough of my rant... i'm definitely interested in the weights of stock parts and the weights of aftermarket replacement parts.... my whole goal with the Z right now is shaving weight... so hell yes I'm interested... I have a whole pile of junk that I've already removed that I can weigh if needed (basically the entire rear interior of the car, from the seats back, speakers, stereo, stock battery....

Must have missed that one. Maybe my scale is a bit off, I got 22lbs for my OEM 07 hood and 5lbs for the front fenders. There is no way the sound dampening pad/s under the glove box are 5 lbs, a pound or two would be more like it. I'll just post a few of my findings that haven't been listed here then.

OEM hatch complete (no weight) - 76 lbs
OEM hatch bare - 50 lbs
OEM hatch glass - 14 lbs
Seibon carbon fiber hatch bare - 20 lbs
OEM fenders - 5 lbs
fiberglass fenders - 3 lbs
OEM roadster trunk complete - 25 lbs
OEM 07 aluminum hood - 22 lbs
Seibon carbon fiber hood - 20 lbs

IMO a waste of time unless the car is a full time racing car. weight does not matter on the streets

If it's such a waste of time, why are you wasting your time in this thread?

It's exactly that kind of junk that makes threads a cluster ****. No fault of yours. Half of those weights are wrong...and then nobody can edit it and make it right or have discussions on certain items in question without having one long convoluted mess.

blegh.
