Damn it almost looks more like someone keyed your car. You should know better than to take a car that you "love" thru some ******** car wash. Hand was FTW.. Hope everything works out though.

idk if this is the same situation as this, but i work at a valet company. And as for damage claims, as soon as the driver exits our driveway we are not liable for any damages i am told by my boss. The reason is because how are they to know that they did the damage to your car and that you did not damage it right after you left and came back trying to put the blame on them. so yeah ive actually been told they had someone literally drive right off the curb and pull a u-turn right back in the lot and tell them about a scratch they saw on the car door. but yeah as i said she left the drive so they were not liable and were able to get away without paying anything to the lady even tho they were most likely at fault.
again idk if it applies here lets hope not. hope everythign goes well.

Matty, a couple of things.

1. The owner will not take liability. 2 reasons for this; no proof his wash did it; and more importantly, they have signs all over stating that you take responsibility for any damage caused by the wash, not them. It's like those ******** liability waivers you sign when you do a high risk sport/activity like sky diving. They could push your *** outta the plane and still never lose a lawsuit.
2. You know this already, but just to be sure...never use a freaking automated car wash.
3. If you need your car washed fast and cheap, go see Valentine at Break Time on Val Vista and Baseline. Tell him Marshall with the Blue convertible Z sent you. Then walk across Val Vista and go to the 2 story office, the first suite. We'll hang for a few minutes until your car is done, or grab a bite to eat at Nando's next to the wash. They have hand washed my Z about 30 times. Very nice work for very cheap and usually about 20 minutes. I have them hand wax it as well and wax the amp display in the trunk. They are also the only place that doesn't get water in my intake which didn't have a bypass valve.

Sorry about the Z, I'd be up all night if I were you. As I'm not, I'll be hittin' the hay now. I'm in Sedona and have a full day of hiking tomorrow.

G/L. I know a great body/paint shop in Queen Creek as well. A bit of a drive, but worth the time investment.

well im going to talk to my insurance agent tomorrow morning and see what he has to say about this. he is actually a close family friend so his word is good to me. reguardless this car wash should pay for my damage caused. The car wash has a diclamier sign that states we are not responsible for damage to aftermarket parts...last time i checked the driverside fender and door are not aftermarket. **** them. I will keep everyone posted on the situation. Thanks to the people that are supporting me..

I understand that I was being lazy by using the auto wash but that is beyond the point. They caused damage to my Z and they should have to pay for it all.

Yeah, I agree. I have taken mine to the touchless one for about 2 years now without problems

funny, nowhere in this thread did i see anyone "hate" on you for using an automatic wash. what it boils down to is that we learn from our mistakes; some end up learning harder than others. especially with this one. it sucks that it happened but you even said you knew it was not good to do. usually the flamers would come out of the woodwork and laugh at you. i do not see that here. hope you get everything worked out and get that car lookiing good again. if you ever decide to do this again (hopefully not) a suggestion would be to get out of the car once it is done, and do a walk around to check for damage. since you state you drove off and noticed it once you got home, the owners can claim that they did not cause the damage

"So my question is what else can I do at this point?"

Well, until you get some response from the shop, I don't see any need to do anything.

It sounds like the #2 guy is trying to work with you, so you may find the management will be cooperative. Until you get a response, I see no need to do anything.

btw, I never thake my special cars to auto car washes. I take my '02 Frontier there, and occasionally my wifes Camry, but never my toys.

Sorry to hear about what happen, but common sense would tell you that things are bound to be trapped in those brushes cycles after cyles. The only automatic wash I had used was touchless, and that is only if I'm in a hurry.

dude- I can think of better things to do during the week than spend 8 hours cleaning a car.... like actually driving it

good luck on "not paying anything" even insurance claims has it consequences

Hate to be one of the guys laughing at you, but I am.
Don't take it personally, But If you handwashed your car 2 times every week then why don't you care about something called a clear coat? Something called scratches? Even if the automated wash didn't peel your door paint off, you really think those giant spinning toilet brushes covered in mud and dirt from the last 1980 ford escort aren't going to scratch your car???
Ya nuts!

Even though I'm laughing I still feel bad for your situation and really hope they covered all the damages. Goodluck! (live and learn )

Was it the "bristle" type deal, or the "ragstrip" type of thingie? I stay away from the bristle type, if at all possible! I live in a condo', so it's very difficult to
do your own beast washing; I'm forced to go to car-wash places! Don't give up on your effort to get your claim through!

i seriously doubt they will pay to have your car repainted. There are probably signs posted there removing them from blame for damage. Run you about 4-$600 to respray.
