Holy crap that is some crazy damage...I stay away from the spinning crap...I too live in a Condo so I either go to one of those Car washes where u put quarters and spray...or the Exxon down the street has an automatic that sprays water instead of using the spinning crap

Also this is one of those car washes where people work at during the day. They spray your car down and then you drive throu, they also have cameras set up all inside the car wash... hopefully some before shots of my car from the cameras will save my a$$.

How is it you didn't see that scratch when you got in the car at the car wash? That one on the drivers door looks huge.

If their cameras show you driving off, then coming back later, you might have a tough time proving it happend there.

you have got to be kidding, i wonder what could of caused that, that would of ruined my whole month, but I almost had a cow watching (running as fast i could out of a building running towards my car because some idiot thinks a cart is going to stay put on a winding day, i was about 4 seconds to late) .a grocery cart fly in to my door, and leave to nice dents i was so angy that cart didn't have a good day, i picked it up over my head and threw it in the ditch in front of me.

Well its one of the car washes that you stay in your car and go through it... so I didn't need to get out at all. :/

Also with the camera situation im hoping that it will help me... perhaps it will show my car before i went in scratch free and then when i came out with a huge scratch.

Reality is that they are going to deny the hell out of it... but the owner hasn't called me back yet so I don't know whats going to happen... Im just hoping that the owner will be cool about it and pay for the damages they caused. If not, im pretty much screwed..

If it must be automatic, NEVER use one that touches your car.

sorry this is a little OT, but also never use those california water blades to dry. they might, might be safe if you just washed, but i used mine to dry after i got caught in a rain shower and now i have a little reminder on my hatch. it isn't noticeable unless you're looking, but dammit it bugs me.

Wow, that REALLY sucks! I try to wash mine by hand whenever possible and run it through the automatic every once in awhile, but now I'm NEVER going to go through one of those washes again. Good luck, keep us updated.

Sorry bout the scratches, they will have to repaint. Also everyone talking about the touchless carwashes. Well they aren't to safe either. Just read an article on a magazine that said even the touchless car washes aren't safe. You're better off taking the time to wash the car yourself, if you really love your Z.

that sucks. it will be hard to prove to the owner of the car wash that it was his car wash that scratched your car unless there are other people complaining about scratches. i only go to hand car washes and automatic washes (for touch ups) that spray your car, never go to a car wash with brushes and mops, there could be debris or other matter stuck on them which can cause the awful damage which is mostly likely what happened to your Z.
