What type of octane do you guys use for350z??
i know that 91octane is the recommended fuel but is it ok to put 89octane?
i've heard that if you put 87octane then it would make a knocking sound in the engine.
So would 89octane be alright??or no?

91 octane ONLY...

If you put 87 you're only saving a couple dollars per tankfull and you're cutting your engine's life short by a lot.

Only cheap-asses put 87 in a performance sports car...

What does the owner's manual say?

89 octane is in the same boat as 87.

I believe the manual states the lowest grade you should use is 91. If you are in a remote town and they only have 87 or 89 then it is okay once. Over time it is bad.

Just use 91 and don't worry about it.

I don't understand the thousands of threads asking about octanes when the manual states at least 91. Just follow it or buy another car. Sheesh!!!!! If you can't afford a few more dollars at each fill-up, you are living way beyond your means with the Z.
