Default Dealer Service experiance

So I finally took the car in for service. First I went to Staten Island Nissan, and it didn't start off to good. I told him I needed an oil change and that I am hearing a click from the front right tire. I also told him about the window greasing and he said he hasn't heard of that in any Nissans!! I told him it was a common problem in the Z as well as the late Maxima's. He also said that my windows are tinted and that you should bring this to your Tint Dealer and that tints are illegal in NY and that he can't work on them for that reason. He also said that he didn't feel like taking apart the door panel. I told him to forget the whole thing and I left the dealership and drove to Bay Ridge Nissan.

After I arrived I spoke with the service consultant about the problems. He told me to go for a test drive about the ticking noise. We start to drive and and I was able to reproduce the problem. While on our road test, he asks me the usual, How do you like the car?, Why did you get the Touring?. And then he tells me that he is getting the 2004 Twin Turbo Z. I almost started to laugh. So I told him that they aren't releasing any 2004 TT Z and that the only remote thing to that might be a bolt on kit from Nismo through a dealership. He then said it was a factory Twin Turbo and that it is going to be released in summer of 2004. I then went ahead and told him if he had any literature on this turbo and his response was no. We get back to the dealership and I told him about the Bose Radio and how it sucks!! He then went ahead and said, NO WAY, it's a BOSE. He never heard of the TSB for the BOSE amp replacement as well.

All in all, my first dealer service experiance was not the best. Lets just hope that my car has no scratches or anything wrong with it when i get it back. Oh yea, as I was walking about of the service area, some Lady was leaning against my car while she was talking on the phone!!

What a NIGHTMARE!

Fortunately you live in an area where there should be lots of Nissan dealers. Hopefully someone on the forum can help you out and find a good one.

As far as the “lady” on your car, that’s no lady! I believe that’s grounds for murder! LOL

Good luck.

Peace

A lady standing against your car? If she leaning on my Maxima that I wash at least once a week, then there would be hell to pay. I don't want smudges from somebody's *** against my beautiful black car! What a *****.

The service guy at my dealer said he'd never heard of the Z's front tire feathering problem.

I'd bet my *** he was lying, though. We'll see what they do if my tires ever develop the problem...

I always go into dealerships and service departments ready to call bull**** on anything they say. It's twice as much fun for me, becuase I know these people lie to everyone to make an extra buck, but they're absolutely horrible when they see an "unsuspecting" girl. I usually give them enough rope to hang themselves and then leave.

Fortunately, though, my Z experience hasn't been a bad one at all with the dealer or my service--both guys realized right off that I knew more than your typical female. lol

I also had them check the allignment in the front. Is there anyway I have proof that they really checked the allignment. They could just tell me that it's in spec.

Most alignment machines produce a report of what the alignment was at the start and what the alignment was when they were finished (it's all automated these days). You usually have to ask for this report before hand (kinda like asking for a receipt). Then all you'll need to know is what the spec settings are and you can match your final report to the spec settings.

Well I got my car back from the dealer after they serviced it.

Impressions:
1. No sticky tag on windshield stating when my next oil change. I did pop open the hood and was able to tell that they did change the oil.
2. They tightened my upper control arm bolt so now i have no more noise coming from my front right wheel well.
3. They fixed the rattle underneath the dash.
4. They fixed the window grease.
5. I told him to check whether the allignment was in spec and he said the allignment is fine. I asked for a spec sheet and he said they don't have that machine and he just drove to check if my allignment was good.
6. LAST BUT NOT LEAST....AFTER I PARKED THE CAR IN DRIVEWAY I WENT TO CHECK THE MAIL. WHILE I WAS WALKING BACK TO THE FRONT DOOR, I NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A LICENSE PLATE HOLDER ATTACHED TO MY CAR. I DID A DOUBLE-TAKE B/C I JUST REMOVED MINE LAST WEEKEND. SO I WALK TO THE BACK OF THE CAR AND THE DEALER HAD THE NERVE TO TAKE OFF MY PLATE AND ATTACH IT TO THE DEALERSHIPS PLATE HOLDER AND PLACE IT ON MY CAR!!!! I COULDN'T STOP LAUGHING!!!!!!!

Default good customer satisfaction

if had the opposite kind of treatment from my dealer

i'm in the southbay area of southern california. i bought my car at Gardena Nissan in february of '02 and it arrived in August of '02, and so thats where i go for all my z33 services

my VIN number is less than 000125 and so i've experience my share of problems already and it hasn't even been a year yet

i have about 18,000 miles on it already and since i first got it, i've had the wheel alignment problem, i've had my transmission swapped out because of the grinding between 2nd and 3rd, and now i've got my car in the shop right now getting my rear axel swapped out due to rust inside the mechanics of it

but all along, it hasn't been bad at all.........i think i've had the best customer satisfaction ever........its never been an inconvenience to me at all to have my car worked on.........even heavy labor jobs like the transmission, and now my rear axel, gets done while i'm at work............same day service......... professional and friendly.......prompt response times.......and best of all, honest.......its sounds like a complete ad, i know, but i really have had a good experience thus far

at one point, i took it in cause there was a noise coming from my right rear tire well............i got there a little earlier than the time they told me the car would be done.........and as i was waiting, i had my lunch leftovers in a plastic container, so i thought i'd eat it while i wait.........i asked one of the clerks for a spoon or something, but she said they didn't have any there.......only in the lunch room on the opposite side of the lot.........dude.....five minutes later, the chick shows up with a spoon, ...and a fork!
