"G35's are better"
I love it when people just yell things out when your driving around. I was cruising around the bar district earlier tonight with my windows down and this guy on the sidewalk yells over "G35's are better", and I just looked over and said "it what ways" and just kept driving, don't get me wrong g35's are good cars, but c'mon.

I don't know about "better." For different consumers, definitely! I test drove an '07 6MT g35 the day before I bought my Z. That alone should say something. I admit, there were more do-dads and styling quest that some would consider a "step up." My older brother, for example, has an M35 and he is all on the g-car's nuts. He had one as a loaner from Infinity for a few days and loved the car so much, he urged me to test drive one before looking at the Z.
Longs story short (too late, I know) I test drove the g35 and was NOT impressed. I guess all Infinity reps have to do some "demo" stuff with the car for test driving. My sales guy took me to some moderate hills and some nice back roads so I could "appreciate the technology and refinement" that goes into a g-car.
Me, I'm not into "luxury" cars so the extra tid-bits did not impress. What did impress upon me though, was going up a moderate hill on a freeway (near Half-moon Bay) and at about 70mph, I had to down shift! I was very upset that the car didn't have nuts to keep going in 6th to pull up a slight grade. Also, the VDC did some weird "breaking" thing going through downhill switch backs that made my sphincter pucker. Not cool.
The next day I finally test drove the Z and found what I was missing in the g-car, so I bought one. The extra grunt and the "sport" in sports-car. The g is nice for what it is. And a sports car it isn't. The g35 drives like a high end 2-door Accord or maybe an iS250.
My 2 cents.
