Default Air conditioning in warm weather not working too well

Is anyone having issues with their AC? I turn it on and it blows warm air out for a long time before it gets semi-cold. The AC is not all that cold. It actually sucks!

Default My A/C Blows

ballz,

Mine works just fine. I am in Texas ... I'm sure it's a little bit hotter down here than up there. Most cars will blow hot air out if they've been sitting for a while in the sun. A couple of hints that you may or may not already know:

1. If you have it on recirculate - the middle button - that actually will cool the car down a little bit quicker.

2. Make sure that the light on the button on the right is on, where it says A/C.

If it doesn't do much after that - then take it in. I'm pretty amazed with the A/C in the Z - I thought I'd be a wimpy one compared to the Explorer I used to drive, which had an awesome A/C system.

Hope that helps!

Cool guys, I tried all the tricks but still no luck. I just made an appointment for Thursday to get it looked at. Must be an issue with the system itself, had the car for a while but havent had really hot weather til recently. Now I burn every time I get in the ****. Guess it dont pay to be lazy.

Default A/C OK

Sounds like you have a problem.

Everyday has been 90+ since I took delivery. (11 days!)
I thought the car cools down fast -- probably since the inside is such a small area.

That said, I have thought the ventilation is bad when the windows are down. (?) Frankly, I rather drive with the A/C off and the windows down, it just doesnt' seem to have any airflow?

What about it, no airflow or just me?

Peace

Sounds like you may be low on refrigerant. Have you checked the sight glass for bubbles. Check to see if you have bubbles flowing thru the sight glass. If you do you are low and need recharge, probably also would need to be checked for leaks. If you have nothing flowing thru the sight glass you have no refrigerant.

Good luck getting your AC checked out. It definitely sounds like a problem because mine cools off really quickly and actually gets me a little chilly after a while--I have to turn up the temp and turn the fan down to low! It's been pushing the 100 degree F mark in Dallas lately, as well.

Hmmmmmmmmmm?
It is Hotter than a "Fat Man in a Buffet Line in Vegas at a Casino with no A/C" here in Dallas (100+ for the past several days!) Once I'm driving, particularly on the highway, even in the middle of the day, I can NOT turn my A/C above 2 notches (on 60 degrees) or my friggin face will freeze!
So that is bizzare. I say take it in bro'.

It has been 116+ here in AZ and my AC has been fine....Cools down my car rapidly actually. I would have your system checked for refrigerant leaks just like the others said. Good luck.

This won't help your problem but here is what I usually do. As I'm hitting my keyless entry I just hold down the unlock button until the windows roll down. This allows a lot of the heat to get out of the car before I get in. Mine takes about 2 blocks to get cold and then it blows like a cyclone (go ISU).

I'm sure 99% of the people know this but for the 1% there you go.
