Default Liquid Aluminum paint only available on Touring?

I was looking at invoice pricing on kbb.com and noticed this:

K25 Aluminum, Liquid
(Late Availability) (N/A Base, Enthusiast, Performance, Touring Roadster or Track) (Req's Interior Color-G or R)

Heres a link to the page.

Why would they restrict that paint color to Touring coupes only?

Looks like the Enthusiast roadster wont be available in white either. I cant imagine that being a popular color for a vert in any case.

Question

Also noticed this on the Performance and Touring 6spd-----> "Wheels, 7-Spoke Aluminum Alloy"

A new style perhaps? Mine are 6-spoke on my Performance model.

Thanks for the find!

Like we've suspected, there are three silvers -- would that be enough maybe? C'mon Nissan: Shift_ imagination

But the burnt orange is available with the liquid alum. And interesting possibility. I wonder if liquid aluminum is anything like the show car was .... J

ah good catch on the wheels!!! I didn't even notice when I posted my note earlier today. I am hoping (praying) that they are the G35 Coupe rims. Thems is nice They are the only other 7 spoke nissan makes unless they are totally new rims.

Actually the stock 17" rims are 7-spoke. Since the "standard equipment" list lumps both transmissions together, they might just be listing the ATX standard rims (which are the 17's) although the link shows that it's only the 6-speed.

"Trans., 6-Spd. Manual w/Overdrive or 5-Spd. Automatic w/Overdrive Manual Mode"

That sucks. I would have loved a Enthusiast with the liquid color.. Guess it's silverstone for me then...

my bad... meant to say 18" 7spoke wheels. That would stink if they just made the 17" bigger for the new model (no offense to anyone). I just don't like any of the stock wheels except the track.

Well silver does seem to be the most popular car... by far. At the CT meet last weekend there were tons more silverstones and chrome silvers than any other color. To my surprise there wasn't even one sunset there!

I guess nissan is just playing to the market with the new color.
