Default Flashlight Required for Cruise Control

Haven't seen this mentioned on this board before. I took a road trip recently and wanted to use the cruise control. It was dark and I suddenly realized that I the cruise "controls" were not backlit! I find this odd since every other feature seems to be illuminated. I had to turn the dome light on to make adjustments until I memorized the layout. Anyone else find this annoying?

Luckily for me, I used it for the first time in daylight, so now I know how it works.

But yeah, it's only a few buttons, I'd just randomly press them until something worked (only so many combinations, ya know)

Heh yeah, I use it without even thinking about it these days, let alone looking at it. It's pretty easy to remember. No light needed.

The backlighting is a nice feature, but certainly not a big deal after the first 5 minutes or so. I much prefer cruise mounted on the wheel to the "stick" mounted cruise that is on many GM cars.

FYI, I've rented a lot of cars and there really isn't any consistancy as to which types/brands/price of cars have backlit cruise. It's certainly not a high end feature, because I've seen it on econo cars and then not seen it on luxury cars.

I beleive this to be a proper technical term. I find my wife using them all of the time and in a multitude of situations. I must need more technical experience, or maybe I can find a reference manual so that I may look up these terms when they are thrown at me.
