Wow our 350Z isn't a Sports car but a Vette is?
Taken from wikipedia.org
"A sports car is an automobile designed for performance driving. Most sports cars are rear-wheel drive, have two seats, two doors, and are designed for precise handling, acceleration, and aesthetics. ..."
Any other definition is personal preference.

You couldn't pay me enough to buy a POS C5 vette . . . and nowhere did they mention that it has to be reliable -- just under $20K. Another worthless corvette forum thread . . .

How the hell can a miata make his list and not the Z, and MR2's are like big go-karts

Sports cars are supposed to be fun. When have you ever seen a 'vette on the street having fun or driving enthusiastically. They are always in the right lane driving slow. Yes, it's a sports car, but the fact of the matter is they can't afford the gas to run hard. So they sit over there in the slow lanes and smuggly drive slow because they think they are fast whereas they really can't afford to go fast to have a little fun. Secondarily, the cars design is dated. I mean just look at some of the new car designs out now, truly spectacular. The 'vette is a direct decendent of the recent past with no articulation or real design, it looks like a melting popcicle. Sure, they are cheap, but who needs a cheap V8 with todays fuel prices. Corvette needs to revisit some of their early models for inspiration (60's era).

1. Most vette guys don’t fck around on the street because they take it to the track! that’s what a majority of owners believe...
and you obviously have never cruised with vettes before because plenty of them also open it up on back roads... sorry you won’t see many roll racing ricer style...
2. please do some research on the LS series of engines... they get better gas mileage than the VQ.... and take the mods a hell of a lot better
3. Also the demographic that buys vettes they are a pretty affluent group..(just like you would find in other car communites) ever wonder why lingenfelter does so well
4. styling is subjective so I wont comment on that
your comments are just as bad as the guy saying a 350 isnt a sports car LMAO
Initally the 350Z was listed but in 4th place in his listing of 5. Just because others can't see past a name brand I see the C5/C6 as super cars even if they use last news chassis there engine and body design light and stylish make it a bargain and one of the best bargain Super Cars that is a Sport Car in its class. Now the 350Z is in a totally different class though both sprimp on something to offer true sports car performance at a reasonable price.
In it's class the 350Z and Honda S2000 are designed Sports Cars on different end of the spectrum with Z being closer to a Porsche and the S2000 being closer to Lotus.
Now the catch all RX-8 makes me doubt its sports car origin its more like a Sports Coupe that thinks its a Sports car like a BMW 325i that needs a tuneup slow but performs. Excuse My attempt at humor.
