350Z the new 240?
I just saw a Youtube Video of a stock GTR vs. Mod 430hp 97 RX-7 the mod RX-7 beat the GTR 2 out of 3 races? But which one would I buy, it would definitely be the GTR.
If the mod Madza ever went down its all on you to find a mechanic or fix it yourself. If my 05 350Z (and past Z-cars) is any example of Nissan reliability the GTR will be running many years later.
Also I think on a real road race track the results would be different this track seemed to favor who ever got the lead, the road was so thin it would be hard to past, of course you could crowd the leader.
The 240SX, RX-8, Civic mod or stock 96-99? RX-7 TT can out run a stock 350Z but really what new a Mod Mustang can do the same but you still would only have a Mod Rx-8 (that may break on you) hell these Mod vehicles would out run a Porsche Cayman or NA 911. But they will never be a 350Z or a Porsche.
There's a video of a little square box Mod Fiat (ugliest thing since the Yugo) out running a TT 350z, 911 Turbo, C6 Vette and a Lambo, but do you think I'd want this Fiat, Hell NO! Ugliest thing since a Pinto or Yugo.

At the end of the day, the 350z is a relatively affordable RWD sportscar.
Folks that are angry because their Z is heading for a more down-to-earth status, need to get of their high-horse and realize they're not in the super-car club. They are driving the wrong car if that's what they care about.
Truthfully, I can care less about any Z made between the original S30 240z all the way to the Z32 300ZX. If the 350z has the privilege of remaining popular, by way of the 240/ Silvia then let's all be greatful and enjoy the fact that it will have any relevance in the next 15 years or so.
