Should warranty have covered it?
Well I brought my car (06 base) in for a clicking rear axel. Told them about the TSB when I made the appointment. Got a call from them yesterday when the car was all set. The TSB only covers 03-05 model years.
With the 06 they were instructed to re-torque the hubs. It did fix the problem, no more clicking They said that there were no parts replaced so it was not a warrenty service and something about 1 year 15,000 from Nissan. I also told him about my extended warrenty and if that covered it. Just seemed odd that I had to pay out of pocket. Also is a bit odd as they replaced my engine about 2 months ago no questions asked for oil consumption.

if it is going to be a customer pay issue they have to call and get your permission to do the work prior to them doing it.
if they did not do that then they can not charge you for it. if they did then you agreed to it then you have to pay.
as for that being a non-warranted item i will not say 100% one way or the other, but if i was the one doing the repair i would not charge the customer. that sounds like a warranty item--unless there has been some work done the area in the past.

Just seemed odd they were so lenient on an $8000 warranty repair but so strict on one for $100.

Why else would they issue it without the intent of fixing a factory defect? That means that anyone out of their warranty would have to pay out of pocket to fix a factory defect...Maybe i am misunderstanding this..

Let me see how this works. When you bring your car in for a TSB, they check it and etc. say that it is not covered, will they still charge you for taking a look at your car or no?
