bad thought process. my point was that if you are going to be what is power shifting for most people (dropping the clutch...) then you should make sure your rpms are not too far in either extreme of what would be an ideal shift point.

idwin, do you really think you are making me angry? you have made this a personal vendetta because you cannot come up with any corroborating evidence about your gold plating claim.

just because you are a miserable loser, stop trying to make everyone else miserable by adding your pathetic star trek and mc hammer (or whoever the f*ck that is) pictures and trying to make me look stupid. why dont you take a minute to examine your life and come to some conclusion as to why you are acting this way. another thing, how old are you? because you are behaving like a teenager. strap some ***** on, grow up, and act like a man. this is a public forum, not a place for you to have hissy fits.

A power shift (which is bad for the drive train over time) is when you shift gears without letting up on the accelerator pedal (most often in drag racing).

This is a simplified definition for most people.

thanks for the clarification. i personally do not power shift if that is the case, i baby my car unless i am tracking. i see it as shifting the right way, or shifting the wrong way; i am completely aware that doing what you described would cause premature drivetrain wear. i said that "dropping the clutch is what most people consider power shifting" because i constantly see mustang owners trying to show off and just dropping the clutch in 1-2 in order to make their tires squeal (and the fact that their car is not in the proper rpm range is clearly audible), and the places i have lived have a lot of that.
