OFFICIAL first 350Z cut loose to the public at Universal today
Aloha to all my fellow Z nutz again!!
This is the official "First Z Retail Delivery" or at least the one that Nissan has watched (and filmed) go down the assembly line, onto the boat (err ship) off the boat and into the paws of the final retail owner. This is the one that will be in all the news clips and press releases that you will be seeing in the future. Today at noon at Universal Nissan, Lenny sage presented the keys to the proud new owners, Allan, Sharon and Andrew Eichner.

This is S/N 501, and the press as well as the nissan corporate communications team came to shoot the delivery of.

I was there early to check out the scene, it seems the black one that I saw on Friday is the S/N 000002 that Morrie Sage gets for being the #1 Nissan Dealer in all the U.S. and he has it in the showroom floor with the final 1996 300ZX S/N 300 production 300ZXTT.

The press had Allen drive it the inaugural 15 feet (3 times) and then they let him take it home. (after of course, he was VERRRRRY kind to take me for a spin up and down the Hollywood freeway)

The Universal Sales team was all there for the plethora of Z's, and my little ol yellow g-nose made it's token appearance.

I would like tto thank the Eichners for their patience with the whole adventure, and wish them many happy motoring miles, and as Allen said "It was like having another child, 9 months of anxiety (give or take a week or two) and he'll be smiling from this day foreward!!!! (Chrikey I can't wait for the convertibles, anyone got a spare 350 coupe order they don't need? I got a sawzall)
Cheers!

Great pictures, thanks for sharing!
Do you know what is up with the Chrome wheels on the black Z? Are they the dealer installed factory 18" chrome wheels that sell for, I think, $1,300.00?
I just checked CourtesyParts, and they state a March '03 availability.

Yes, yes! More on the wheels! What size where they (width wise)? They look like BBS RKIIs... or AT Italia Flash Sports.

Charlie,
Thanks for the post. Those images look like video snaps... do you have the video itself those were shot from? I'd be happy to edit it and convert it, as well as host it online if you're interested.
I know we'd all love to watch it if it were at all possible.
Drop me an email at jay@my350z.com if you're interested.
Thanks!

Well folks the black Z with the nice wheels really sets precedence for after market wheel selections. From what I can see those wheels take the look of the Z to another level! WOW!
Seeing that there is a Z that is already been modded (although very little) and on display in a showroom, I can't help but feel somehow left out. Nissan has to get the cars delivered to other regions of the country real fast. This is driving me nuts.
