Default not good so far

I don't know how many people have gotten their cars already but so far It doesn't look so great. All i am hearing right now is everyone is backing out. Well in a couple of weeks more people will have so we can hear what others say.

I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it. People back out of these deals frequently. This is why dealers impose the ~$,1000 non-refundable deposit. If they didn't, they would be out a lot, with a lot of inventory to move.

This is normal,
Todd

well so far I have not read a bad magazine review. But I think a lot of people are not committed to the 2 seater experience with all it's drawbacks.

You should be happy about this.

If people back out of buying the Z then there will be less on the road. i hate seeing so many other RSX's on the road. there are too many of them.

Liquiid Ice: I think I've seen you on the ClubRSX boards right? I'm from Westchester too. A lot of people are making the switch. I'm a defactor from the I-Club.

BTW-Redline red is the hottest color for the 350Z.

So far we've only seen one post (not here but on Audiworld) of someone actually backing out.
My hunch is most of these other "cancelled pre-orders" are just dealers putting their own names on the list so they have cars to sell.

I saw on another 350Z board that someone mentioned his dealer told him 2 people have already backed out of their orders (from that dealer) - he didn't give a reason.....

Thats a sweet car, especially if he has the $ to drop the RS6 motor in. but its gonna be expensive since a RS6 is $82,000 i would imagine the engine is expensive.

I love german cars. theres always been a Audi/VW and Jeep at my house. well in 92 we got a Max, but then after a A6, and now theres a 03 TL type S, RSX, Jeep.

Default Mostly not serious customers...

I did some calling around to the dealerships in the Bay Area (found several available for a markup, and for MSRP)

For the most part, those who have canceled their orders where not very serious in the first place. I found a couple where their daddy was going to buy it and they were too "intimidated" by the car and wanted a 4 door yuppy model...

Other orders I found were where people didn't think initially about the actual cost. They've bought things in the meantime, and cannot afford it now. There were several younger types who didn't have much responsibility with their finances...

So, we get to benefit. Those who are serious, there are cars out there for MSRP. And their are order slots open NOW for orders to be faxed in NOW. So you could have your car in 3 months...
