Default Hit by a drunk driver.

Don't worry it's not as bad as the title sounds because I wasn't in the car. I was parked on the street in front of my friends house and we were shooting some hoops. We both see this Corolla S flying down the street and I had a bad feeling in my stomach right there. And whaddya know, she slams into my driver side wheel well and front bumper. Luckily for me she stayed and I called the cops, who gave her a breathalyzer and she blew a .11 which is .03 over the legal limit in Pennsylvania. Just my luck huh? I've barely had this car for over a month and its already in the shop getting my front axle fixed and bumper replaced..

Yeah me too. And I'm getting faulted as well for parking too far from the curb, what a joke.

I'll put pics up if I can but I havent been able to get ahold of my girlfriends camera all summer, I keep forgetting to ask her.

at least you werent in the street, or in your car, could have been a lot worse. cant believe you are getting faulted for something a drunk idiot did.

We're both getting faulted but its unbelievable that they would actually do that to save a buck.. insurance companies don't help anybody these days.. And there were 3 other cars in the vicinity in the street, but she's gotta hit me.. I'm so unlucky..

get a lawyer dude, a car can roll after being hit. they cant prove where it was before. its worth a shot. they have no sympathy for drunk drivers and you would most likely win.

That sucks! Here in MN if you get hit by a Drunk driver, regardless of what you were doing its 100% their fault. You could run a stop sign, get a ticket for failure to yield and still not be at fault simply because the other driver was under the influence.

heck ya, fight the curb thing...say the impact jolted your car or something and its now farther out.....thats bull a cop would do that and put you at fault.....im guessing the cop is the one that sited you for parking to far...

what is it? 18 inches from the curb or less...thats normal legal limit right?

I never thought cops took the time to check that crap-o-la...but one time i was downtown and bike cops had nothing better to do but pull out their own Dollar store tape measures and measure cars distances from the curb......i was freaking out!!! what arsessss.....

They've GOT to pass tougher laws against these potential murderers! Until one of 'em kills a Senator's/Representative's/Mayor's/Governor's relative, THEY WON'T DO IT!!!

my insurance company wasnt compliant to my claim that i was not at fault during the accident so everything came out of my pocket for the damage done to my car. i dont know if i can legally go to court and fight this? i asked my parents but they didnt know what to do either
