My 1980 850cc Mini with short shifter - tremendous.
My fave is my custom built autobox on my UK 200sx which I would kill to have in my Z.

your mothers.
nah i just wanted to say that...it was left open for so long. After riving my GF's EVO with the extreme clutch, my leg feels like i been to the gym. Then when i drive my Z after driving her's it feels as if im on cloud 9...the Z feels so different and much better light as a feather. So recently my Z's now the best shifting car i've driven in a long time.

I would say S2000, and Z4.
Z4's shift was pretty smooth.

2nd gen miata
AP2 s2000
the s2000 is definitely shorter, but it actually required a bit more effort then the miata...
with the miata...pick any finger, and u can shift with it and not miss a gear or anything...but the s2k has alot less miles on it so maybe thats it...
but i regard both of them as very good
