Default losing control of Z (tail whip?)

Hey, I was wondering if anyone could tell me if there is a big difference between the Z's with LSD and TC options on them, and ones without.

I have a base 08 and is pretty much optionless. I've put almost 1000 miles on it so far Anyway, I was driving it last night with my friend, and of course my dumbass turned the music up a little too much. I accelerated out of a turn and revved it up to about 6k (it got there really fast, I usually don't rev my car past 3k since I havent broken it in) anyway, the tail whipped to the side and I nearly lost control of the car. I regained control after a couple of whips to the left and right, it was pretty scary.

I had a 98 eclipse RS before this, so it's a BIG power increase for me that I'm not quite used to yet. So I was just wondering if someone could give me some advice for this, am I pretty much screwed without LSD and TC?

There are a dozen threads addressing LSD and traction control. How they work. What they do and cannot do. Please read.

I want to say that if you had to whip left then right your foot was still on the gas. I have done this a few times, though I knew what was going to happen. Fighting it by slightly gasin it, with countersteer is retarded on public roads. Your not screwed just keep learning/loving/feeling that car of yours...

Well i have an 06 base and the only times i have lost control or shall i say broken traction is when i wanted to do it. Just cause you dont have and LSD or TC doesnt mean your screwed, just learn to drive what you got.

Tail to the right. Hit brakes, turn to right. Whip over.

3.5ltr rwd, revved at 6k, what do u expect? u gun it on an turn, of course that sexy *** would shake.

happens a lot whenever you have the traction control off - with or w/o the standard viscous LSD. just be easy on the throttle especially when making a U-turn on a smooth road . . . unless you wanna show-off or somthin. hehe!

+1 on kingbaby's post btw.

take your car to an Autox...it will help you learn your car in a controlled environment.

I personally find the Z incredibly easy to control. but since your coming from FWD, you have much to learn about how Real cars (RWD) handle.

Well i solved this with Volk SF Challenges 19By 10.5 in the back... with some stretched rubber on it but if you dont feel like spending 5k on all that i would say..... watch what you do

that is solid advice. sign up for an autox crash course. can't beat having a passenger instructor coaching you through how to handle turns and how to handle wipe outs.

YOu should be happy that your car has the performance to put a smile on your face from time to time. As with any car you have to learn the capabilities of the car & the driver in combination.

We all have traction control built into our right foot. You need to pay attention and us it. Learn to drive your car.

turn the stereo down if you plan on 'gettin on it' as hearing the rev helps with controlling the throttle... I've done the same thing after forgetting I turned the tcs system off.

Consider yourself lucky. Usually these threads are posted by 17 year olds blaming a the car for mysteriously losing control and slamming into the nearest vehicle. Your not 17 are you?

LSD or not, if you want to fishtail the rear it'll still do it regardless. If it's doing it and you weren't expecting it, learn to drive it.

What did you expect the car to do? The fact that you didn't expect it to happen shows your clear inexperience with the car and it's capabilities.
