I thought that the aero kit was a factory (or at least port) installed option. Are you saying that the DEALER installs it? Also, what exactly does #9 mean? What is a "front engine splash shield"? Thanks.

4) Z's EQUIPPED WITH ALUMINUM PEDDLES. How can they spell pedals wrong in bold, but then get it right twice in the actual sentences?

Doc,

Front engine splash shield is the plastic piece that helps to reduce water from splashing the engine compartment from below. What they are saying is that the fasteners that hold on that shield are the same ones that attach the front aero deflector (spoiler).

I guess the rear spoiler is factory installed but according to this the front spoiler is not. The only reason I can imagine for not factory installing the front one is a clearance issue when loading/unloading the ships.

Default Track owners read this

If you're getting a Track model with the Brembo brakes, you might want to read this, Brembo's recommendations for bedding them in:

Default Compass

The suggestions mention a compass. I did a search and found no definite answer one way or the other. Is there a compass or not?

If you look at the courtesy parts site they offer an OPTIONAL rear view mirror that is self dimming. That is the one with the compass. I don't think the car normally comes with that one though.

Hmmm, they don't tell you how to calibrate the compass though. In my blazer you have to do donuts until it calibrates itself. (Well, okay, it says to drive around in slow circles, but where is the fun in that)

I talked to my dealer at length about the compass issue. He did not have any solid info, but he believed that early production models would not have a compass built into the rear-view mirror, but later models would. He did not know when the switchover would take place. But, it's not an issue for me because I did get the nav system.

Re: Aero kit

I got an email from D.A.R. (port facility in L.A.) since I never got a response from my dealer or NNA and here's his answer:

"The spoiler is port installed; the chin plate is installed at the dealer."

I inquired because I've decided to add the Aero kit to my order but if it was a factory option I didn't want the change to delay delivery.
