Question Is it too late to change?

Does anyone know if it is too late to change your pre-order?

Thanks,

I've heard the date of 5/31 floating around as the final cutoff. Talk to your dealer (the sooner the better) and don't back down. If they don't cooperate I would call Nissan customer service.

Thanks, everyone for your responses.

I called my dealer and they told me that it's too late because I got my confirmation around 2 weeks ago.

I will try to call Nissan (800-350-7814) today. I will post if I am able to change from Chrome Silver to Blue. See Jeff, You make me change my mind again. I went from Chrome Silver to Leman and back to Chrome silver, now I like the blue. It really stands out.

I don't see why we can't change color at this point, since paint job gets applied almost at the end of the assemble line.

Default Called Nissan and dealership

Nissan told me that I still can make that color change request.
Dealership told me to come in on tuesday next week, because of the Memorial weekend. It may be that this will delay my allocation, but I sure don't want to regret it. I waited this long, another month or two won't bother me.

I will post more information after I talk to those guy at the dealership next tuesday.

Thanks Jmanz and tbcz

Touring, 6MT, Chrome Silver (Confirmed)

Good deal md350z...glad to hear you're getting somewhere. Definitely let us know how it's going...that nosy rat-bastard Scafremon has me second guessing myself now too. Everything was fine, but could he leave it alone? Nooooooooooo... he had to go out and take enough pictures to drive us all half crazy! And I thought he was our friend...humpht!!

Default Brainwashing

I too drove straight to my friendly Nissan dealership (50 mins away) and had them change my color from silver to blue. Great photos and I'm glad they came out in time...

BTW: The Sales Manager told me that he totally understood. He too likes blue but ended up buying a silver truck because thats all Nissan was showing prior to the truck's release. It's a mental thing I guess.

Yep... it's the main reason most of the WRX's on the road are blue - that's what you see in the ad's.

Today, I went to the Dealership and changed Chrome Silver to Daytona Blue and added aero kit. If you still want to make a change this friday 5/31st may be your last change, according to a Nissan Rep.

Interesting. The last official stats I saw from Nissan had Daytona Blue and Brickyard as the two least popular colors. The newly released photos now seem to be winning converts over to the blue. I wonder if Nissan chose to expose the two least popular unseen colors first in order to boost the number of those colors ordered.

I think so, It worked on me aleast. So many people picked a color they think is safe such as silver. Nissan should of thought of this in the beginning of the Pre-order process. May they would have more people pre-ordering it.

I think it was a question of economics. Nissan had reportedly spent $10,000 on a silver paint job. So of course they've been showing it off at every opportunity. Having said all that, I think a better web site would have made life simpler for all of us to select the color that most suited our tastes. I'm sure Nissan will get it right for the launch of the GT-R though, so we'll be able to pre-order the right color next time

Default YES you can change

I talked to the 350Z ordering co-ordinator for the MID-ATL region and she told me that you CAN change your order up until the DAY it is started down that factory line! It sounds like your Dealership was misinformed and i would just bug them to call your region HQ. Why settle for less than you want.
Just an FYI
