Please help!!! Dan took my money...
I'm sorry I posted this in the General Forum, but I wanted to get the most exposure to my problem.
Does anyone know 350zdanny (Daniel Penn) from New Jersey? I purchased a stock 350z intake from him and he accepted my PayPal payment on July 24th. I asked him to send it to me via Priority Mail, and paid for the shipping. On 8/1, he PM'd me to say he was sorry that he didn't get a chance to send it yet, but he had his secretary send it via Express Mail and he was going to give me the tracking number later that day.
On 8/6, he responded to my PM that I told him I didn't get the package. He said that it should have arrived by now, but he has the tracking number at his office and he would get that to me on 8/11 (Monday). I sent him a PM on Sunday saying that's fine, that I was curious to see what happened to the package via the tracking number. He logged into the site on Monday, but ignored my PM - never read it. I sent him another PM later that evening asking him again for the tracking number and that I didn't care if he actually sent it or not, but to at least keep in touch with me with what's going on. He's yet to log on.
Does anyone know what his phone number or seen his house? I have his address that was on the PayPal account if that's helpful.
I'm seriously thinking of submitting a buyer's complaint to PayPal (I have 30 days from the time I made the payment). I withdrew the funds from my bank account (not via a credit card), so I think I can dispute the payment with the bank. The thing is the total payment was only 31 frigging bucks!!! I can see if someone wanted to rip me off for $100 or more, but $30??? WTF???? All I want is the intake for my G35.
Also, if anyone wants to sell me their stock intake tube w/clamps for cheap out of pity, I would greatly appreciate it!

Rick,
I am really sorry to hear what has happened to you. I wish you the best in getting to the bottom of this. I would also file a complaint with Paypal.
I hope other members on this board will help this gentleman out; especially the NJ people.

Yup, wish you luck... I hate that ish too... but caveat emptor especially when buying from posting boards (when not a vendor, of course)...
I think that sites like eBay try all they can to curtail such swindling practices, as much as possible anyways...

Let me see if I can contact him. I have his # and email at home. I have sold him parts and actually done work on his car. I can check later this afternoon for you. Sorry about your problems. I have spoken and dealt with him many times and their is probably just some misunderstanding. I'll let you know later....
If he really did use this board to rip someone off, something should be done here. What do you moderators do regarding people like this?
Oh, there should be some federal recourse regarding law enforcement of internet fraud. You might want to look into that. Maybe the FTC or FBI would have info.

not much we can do, its always buyer beware online, we try and offer verified sellers with the sponser service so random people cant come here and sell what they dont have.
but single sales, we cant do anything.
good luck, if nothing else, keep track of the date, dont let that month go by, they can and will take care of you if the item was not recieved, they are very buyer oriented, a reason why many sellers wont use it, the buyer can actually rip the seller off, saying he didnt recieve it, get the cash back and the item.

PayPal has re-imbursed me for this transaction. I'm not sure how it works, but I think PayPal reverses the transfer and the money is taken from his account. I don't know if they contact him. I do know that the email address on his PayPal account is invalid.
Doesn't matter. Got my money back. Thanks everyone for hearing me out.

Go to the post office and get a US Postal Service Money Order for the amount of the item, clearly print on the money order what the money is paying for, mail the money to the person using registered mail (thus confirming the person received it with a signature). If the person then in turn does not provide you with the goods or services listed on the money order you can turn all evidence over to the Post Master General and they can prosecute them for mail fraud. Since you paid with a US Postal Service Money Order they are not only trying to rip you off, but they are trying to rip off the Federal government and the Federal government doesn't like that lol.
Trust me it works I've done it before

Glad you got your money back, but for future reference here's a fool proof idea for you when buying something from someone you don't know.
