Default Consumer complaints

I was on a automotive consumer website and I decided to look at some consumer complaints about 350zs.I saw a few complaints were the owners said that thay got in collisions were they were going over 35 mph and their airbag didnt deploy.Has anyone here that has wrecked a z experienced this? This is a little disturbing

It really depends on what KIND of collision they were in. The airbags will fire if the front or side airbag sensors exceeds a given parameter. Otherwise, if your Z gets hit from behind, went off the road or didn't sustain a direct hit, the airbags won't be set off. This is a good thing, as many drivers get injured when an airbag goes off when it shouldn't.

Take a look around the site and you'll find plenty of bad crashes involving 350Zs. The number begins to accelerate at this time of year. What's notable is how well the Nissan safety systems have allowed people to walk away from really bad shunts. Disturbing? Most 350Z owners know they're driving a really safe car!

I'm fully aware of how safe Zs are but when I read a thread about how some dude gets in accident and only the passenger side airbag deploys it kinda caught my attention.

I'll repeat: what KIND of accident it was makes a huge difference in whether airbags will deploy or not. Why not post a link to the thread? There may be some clues there.

the z has a Darwin sensor, basically what is does is in a crash it uses complex algorithms to determine if the occupant has slipped through an evolutionary crack. when it is activated it disables the airbag and slackens the seat belt. it has also been rumored to cause the back end to "just slide out for no reason"
