Default general questions on z

i just sold my 2000 corvette and im looking in to buying a 350z and had some general questions mainly on maintenance, like what usually wears out first, is there anything i should look for when buying one, how fast do people usually go through tires and how much it is to replace. they are pretty cheap right now and im looking to get something prob an 03-04 with 60k miles or less. is there any motor/tranny issues that people have had? my vette was at 145k and motor sounded great still and replaced my tranny at 130k. im probably going to try and get a touring model. i really like the black/orange and silverstone/orange looks, but i think most any color looks great on this car. thank you for the help everyone.

earlier model Z's have many issues. I am not aware of everything but look around this forum and you will find many. electronic, tire featuring, tranny, etc etc...
If I were you, I would get 06 or 07+ for HR motor... If you can't afford 07+, get 06. or atleast an 05.

good luck

05s generally have fewest issues.

Maintenance is generally cheap except tires; about $1000 installed every 20,000 miles.

Use "search" for issures with specific years.

I've got an '05 Touring and the only problem that I've had is the axle clicking issue. Fixed no charge. Oh yeah, the Fun button is stuck in the wide open setting also and that can't be fixed!

i loved my c5 but think the z looks better in lots of ways. i havent driven one in such a long time but i have a friend who is going to let me drive his in a couple of days. in what way besides the power did you like more about the c5, what type of electrical issues are we talking about? i have been searching for issues and troubles here on this forum and its helping me a bit. 20k miles on tires? seems they should last longer. um other things, does it come with a full size spare? and how is it getting up driveways etc?

Always. When buying used you never know what kind of condition the car is really in unless you get it fully inspected. I would buy a lower mileage unmodified car as it has less of a chance of being raced or trashed. Still, you never know unless you get it checked out.
