Summer tires in the winter is a risky proposition, regardless of what car you are driving. With my '03 Z, no matter how gingerly I drove, that car was all over the road, or stuck in my flat parking spot. So now I have a Jeep and a garage to park my Z, so why not?

Enough with the "I just can't believe people hibernate their Z, it's not a Ferrari" ... It's a tired ideology. People park their Z, some don't. End of story.

Hopefully mid-March - whenever it hits and stays at least 40 (so I can wash any saltiness off)

...waiting for the usual southern residents to chime in with their lovely comments...

As most know i have a TENT for my Z. So she hibernates here and there when the weather is crappy out. But best parts is i am able to take her out on many occasions when the weather is good enough to. YAY!

Im up here in Maine and we still have over a foot of snow on the ground after we lost a foot from melting two days ago, and its going to snow tonight into tuesday. So assuming no more snow storms after this one then in about two weeks, hopefully we get a nice rain storm to clean the the nice salt/magnesium chloride mixture off the roads.

And i may be jealous of those down south that get to drive their Z's but i dont need my car rusting out so it goes up for the winter for approx 5 months. but im going to either buy a Hummer or a Cayenne for next winter so at least im not driving my winter beater civic.

Cant wait though, installed my stereo system 2 weeks ago to have it all ready to go, sounds good in the garage.

hmmmm... mine has been in storage since a little bit before halloween. (we got a blizzard first day of november, just north of me got four FEET). it gets moved further into the garage and the snowmobile goes closest to the door. roads are still hella dirty and nasty now. and we usually get at least one blizzard in the spring. last year we got over three feet the first day of may. maybe late may it will come out... it will definitely be a "low mileage" z when i sell it.

I used to keep the Z in the garage to avoid the rain. I probably drove it once a week or so. I have to park it on the street in my current place though, so I pretty much use it as a daily driver. It splits time evenly with my super econobox.

It's frustrating that we just got the worst snow of the year here not even a week after I took the Z out. It's ok though, time for another snooze until warm weather prevails

12 inches of snow yesterday in Milwaukee. Last night's temperature was
just 6 degrees! I'd love to use my Z as a DD, but realistically - not possible
in upper Midwest. My Z hibernates in the garage Nov 1 to April 1. Counting
the days! We need warmer weather and heavy rain to wash away road salt.
But around here, we really really appreciate Spring - thats when the sportscars start appearing!!

+1000000000000

My Z does not see road salt, so she doesn't come out until a good rain washes the roads.

<--- Can't wait. Really want a nice day or two with her before I sell her.

If I'm correct Sin City don't usually get snow. And if I can remember correctly, didn't it snow this winter? Not sure if it was in Dec 08 or Jan 09. Anyway, driving in the snow is a *****, but can be done. It's just that most people have a beater for that purpose.

I've been driving my Z on and off during the winter for the last two years. Lately here in Toronto we have been getting rain and immediately deep freezes, so tons of road salt out here. I take whatever opportunity to drive it, specially now with berks hi flow cats and a wideband newly installed two weeks ago. Love it!! Can't wait for the hot weather.

I live here in Texas, but the few times it does ice and snow. Should I not even think about bringing it out?

Clueless on how it would react?
